Viz confirmed they have no plans for the manga right now.

We're trapped with the anime for a while.

Just a heads up that Manga:Code has scanlated Kikai Tonchi Banashi Hanasaka Ikkyuu, the winner of the Golden Future Cup last year :) A rather enjoyable one-shot, clever (I hope the jokes weren't lost in translation :worrybunny), and has good art. I do hope it gets serialised, which it probably will since it won.

Really liked Kikai Tonchi Banashi Hanasaka Ikkyuu. Interesting story, which could evolve to something big and really exciting if it gets serialized. The art was good too. The only negative about it, is it's long and difficult name.

I thought it was really unique. Using wit and puns instead of fists to fight with, its quite unusual and the riddles weren't overly hard. I really hope it gets serialized! It sounds awesome!

It reminds me of all those folktales and myths where the hero saves the day by answering the question of a dangerous spirit, I quite like that!

Based on Shonen Jump's official website, it said that Gintama is getting both cover and lead CP, and there is nothing saying about Sorachi going to draw his version of One Piece on the cover.

Maybe it was a msitake by the posters in 2ch, maybe a mistake in translation...
The fact is that it was supposed to have One Piece as cover of several magazines, but this is already the second time that it isn't happening.
JumpSQ also only have some kind of post card for One Piece.

But all in all I'm very happy with this. It's way better than giving them only to the bigger titles... maybe Jump's editorial department realized that they're having quite a strong set of series as of now, where even the weaker series have gathered quite a following and enjoy a little popularity on their own. So they'd rather work with what they got than throw'em away and hope for the next big hit miracle.
I don't think anyone would cry if they tossed out Light Wing.:p

It's been made pretty clear at this point, the whole One Piece thing doesn't mean "The whole cover is One Piece" it means there's gonna be some small One Piece picture somewhere on the covers. Or like a small reference or something.
Like this is this week's Young Jump:

Also, Light Wing's been finished for a while. I can't remember a time when it WASN'T last. It's just hanging around until the next serialization round/round of cuts starts.

Honestly, I'd have preferred if Jump had given this time to Psyren instead. Rather than letting a brand new series continue to bottom out like that, an established series like Psyren at least has a certain fanbase loyal enough to continue to buy tankoubon every time they get released. If Psyren had been allowed to continue until now instead of ending back when it did, that's another volume to earn money off. Psyren had a pretty good ending for the circumstances it was in, but it could have been better if it had more time so that the ending wouldn't have been rushed.

I guess it was a sink or swim decision for Jump, and it looks like Light Wing sinks :/

I find it a bit depressing how I'm taking Light Wing's cancellation as a "sky is blue and water is wet" moment. When it was serialized I knew it wasn't going to be received very well. I am impressed that it lasted for as long as it did considering how it never really left the bottom.

@Sal: I agree. It was a poor move on WSJ's part to end Psyren back then. Hopefully they learned their lesson... hopefully.

Dammit Medaka. :(

Anybody know the exact chapter this ranking was base on?

Also, Mon & Wed & Fri is Swimming?

Woo. Toriko's above Naruto. AS IT SHOULD BE. And enigma is still quite high. It's ranked 6th. And Bleach is down to 5th at least.

Nurarihyon is unranked but at least it's high with the color page.
Medaka is low, Dead Wing is still dead. Oumagadoki Doubutsuen seems to be hovering high enough not to get canceled. But I dunno for sure.
Sedeq, Inumaru Dashi is spelled like that. And it doesn't nor never had an explanation point.

So apparantly, next week something called DOIS SOL is starting. Ok, well it's got a weird title. If only titles let you know anything about a series.

That's a wonderful top 3 :) And since I'm biased towards Bakuman, it's a great top 4 as well. Put Enigma over Bleach and it would be an excellent top 5.

I know Mago isn't ranked this week, but still, it's nice to finally see it up near the top...
