What?? Zoo ended? Awe thats a let down. I can see how each chapter might not be a thrilling breath taker; but when read in one large lump sum it was very humorous and I definatly could have gotten into it. Onto brighter notes.. Nura is still low and we get Iwashiros new work in this special jump. Man I still miss psyren.

Unranked on Oricon for both Vol.1 and Vol.2, so no data available :/

Is that like normal for a new hit series lol? I mean even Medaka Box ranked with its second volume...

Well remember, Medaka Box has the Nishio name behind it.
It stands to reason that they'd print more copies for Medaka Box than Enigma (wild conjecture on my part).

I think it depends on the series. Sket Dance took while to rank in Oricon; Nurarihyon and Beelebub were ranked since their first volume; and Kuroko got ranked since its second volume.

It also depends on the competition that week. If a lot of strong series or pretty-decent series are released in the same week, it'd be harder for a brand new series to get ranked. In other words, even if the series sold say 30,000 copies in that week, whether or not that 30,000 is good enough to get it a rank in the top #30 depends on if there are 30 other series in that particular week that sold better.

If you look at the Oricon Comic Rankings thread, you can see that one week, 25k is enough to rank in the top 30, another week 20k is enough, and in yet another, #30 had to sell nearly 40k to get its place.

So, imo, it really depends on the competition that week more than anything else :amuse

The Nisio name wasn't a factor for Jump... otherwise they wouldn't have considerably underprinted for Vol 1 and than were suprised when that 20k shipment to sold out. Did 50k for Vol 2's first week IIRC, so did Ane Doki's Vol 1.

Anyway on a positive note Sket Dance Vol 18's first week outsold the first fortnight of Vol 16 and nearly did the same to 17.

It's been confirmed by Viz Media. So it really will be the last one. In germany it seems to be going the same way, but what matters is that it continues in Japan xD

I really can't stand Viz's idea of dropping series half-way but sadly with the way the economy is and the factor they want to make money off manga, they probably just rather cut the series that aren't selling and concentrate on hoaring...er, supporting the bigger hits. Sadly Gintama just never had the luck of the draw...but then again most of what I like ends up like that. (Kinnikuman Nisei ending without the Tag arc, no "post-anime" Bo-bobo)

Didn't know it was going to be a double-issue.

Well, next week no Jump I presume, that's good for them to take a nice and well-deserved break.

Haruichi's one shot is same one from his one shot from last Jump Next; it is about volleyball.

Yeah same over here, his creepy style is awesome. It reminds me a lot of Yoshiyuki Nishi (Myhou to Roujie). I wonder if volleyball or sports manga would fit his art but it would be really refreshing if you make a sports manga full with creepy looking players :)
