Medaka was at where Beelzebub was at in sales by the time it got its anime. Sket Dance was around the same place as well though a tad bit higher. At 125K as of volume 10, its not that much of a stretch. Plus the anime industry has already shown an interest in seeing a Medaka Box adaption and that was over a year ago.

It is not an absurd idea.

Inumaru is a gag manga, don't compare it with Medaka. Also Medaka has been around half a year longer than Hokenshitsu.

Those are honestly terrible examples....Inumaru is a gag thus will never sell that well. Even Jaguar who ran for 10 years never sold that well and it was popular. That's just the nature of gag manga. And Shinigami didn't come before Medaka. In fact, it premeired 4 months later...plus it's always been a bottomdweller barely surviving by the skin of it's teeth.

Medaka and Shinigami are bottom 5 warriors. Giving hope to all future manga that they can survive long enough to have a decent run as long as there are more fodder soccer manga to help them out.

In terms of anime, I think it simply comes down to whether or not an anime company has any interest in milking it for what its worth. Yes, it has Nisio's name attached to it, but maybe animation companies don't know what it is about Medaka Box that is worth exploiting? Like for example, Studio Pierrot is adding lots of fillers to Beelzebub, because they can without ruining the storyline. Maybe for Medaka its simply harder to translate into a fixed genre of anime.

I wouldn't think so. It;s sort of hard to in the beginning but now it;s pretty obvious to peg it as an unconventional battle manga. Of course I don;t know how any anime studio that would be interested in Medaka would cover the genre shift though.

Well for a long runner the series wasn;t much of a seller. It sold on average somewhere between 60-80K during it;s last year if I recall.

D) It;s not fair to compare it to Kuroko which almost literally ONLY managed to outlast Psyren because JUMP pimped the crap out of it since they insist on having at least one running sports series.

Psyren always had low sales from the beginning so Kuroko would have beaten Psyren regardless of pimping.
its been a while since Jump pimped Kuroko like it used to, but Kuroko still manages to do pretty well in terms of sales.
Kuroko's sales were fairly close to both Beelzebub and Sket Dance (very small margin) and even now, Kuroko doesn't fall too much behind Beelzebub.

solely based on sales, Kuroko consistently beats Medaka so it would be the next one to get an anime if we are looking only at tank sales, but I would agree that its more likely for Medaka to get one than Kuroko.

You said it! Medaka is pretty interesting atm and I hope it goes on a bit longer.


And I'm surprised about DOIS SOL not beeing last, don't know what's happening in Hokenshitsu because they're quite a few chapters behind online but it surprised me either way + again 3 of the 4 (without Ikkyu) new series in the bottom 5, it's really difficult to "battle" against the other great mangas in JUMP...but maybe they'd have better chances in another magazine, well, who knows.

If Mago can stay out of the bottom 5 for another few more weeks, then I think it's safe to say that it's out of the woods from its current slump.

The Japanese people are really not liking the War so far
Toriko has been doing good and the chapters have been pretty interesting, but i am not sure i like this toc

Magico in the middle is awesome, it really deserves to be in that position , cuz the manga so far as been really enjoyable IMO

I am quite happy with this ToC, three manga I don't care about in the bottom 3. If Meruhen would have been lower than sengoku then it would have been four manga.

Toriko deserves the top spot at this moment and I wouldn't be surprised if the character zebra is a cause of this. I kinda look forward to the char poll because zebra has the potential to beat everyone.

Nice to see magico quite high. It is perfectly possible that it would have had higher spots if reborn and bleach wouldn't have had a fixed spot. The recent ToC positions of latter two haven't been stable recently

Talked with a young mangaka who will launch his first series in #Shonenjump soon. Calm but full of ambition. Good luck on him.

Looks like another serie is going to start. No idea which it could be, but this is clearly a sign that in the next weeks one of the series is going to end. Or what do you think?

I saw that it is from 8 chapters ago, so if Naruto is now going to have 540 this would be the 532 ?
