Ah well. Now it's been pointed out that Medaka Box will be ending the same issue number it debuted I'm almost completely sure it's gonna conclude. That's just the sort of stuff NisiOisiN is all about, eh.
If you think about it, Bakuman was a battle manga of sorts. Though not the action battle manga you think of automatically when you hear the word "battle" or "tournament" associate with manga.
It was a prediction by jose I guess, and I wouldn't be surprised if he was being sarcastic himself for the same reasons that were stated.
Even if there is some sort of contest in Bakuman, I'm not sure that the post in question refered to such things rather than a more classic one with real fight and supernatural powers. Anyway maybe we should wait to see if it is confirmed, it's quite surprising that cross manage escape the cancellation a second time.
I doubt it was because SJA, that didnt prevent all the other mangas that run from being cancelled, and IIRC Cross Manage is only gonna be released digitally in the US, not to be negative but I doubt is gonna sell in Naruto levels (its gonna sell waaaay lower than that.. So to put it blunty Shueisha doesn't care)
Some guy on a manga site keeps telling people that Hungry Joker ended with chapter 20, I'm more than sure he's wrong. There's no info that would support that right?

I mean helped it survive as opposed to Kiruko who is younger than it even though they have had about the same ranking and sells. I'm sure it will go next round unless something changes.
cross manage survived for only because it is older. somehow ump prefer to spare older series if two series rate equally bad. kurogane, magico and enigma are recent examples for that case. perhaps they hope its fandom grow miraculous like it did happen with kuruko and the have at least enough to make an anime of it. but all of these bad series get axed the time they reach the 50 mark, so have fun with cross manage till then.

i don't think that medakas ending is unthinkable. the sales are stagnating, the anime is over and the story goes to extremely exaggeration with he addition to a fitting and natural conclusion. also that they would axe kiruku rather than hj or cross manage would be a typical given in jump as explained in previous posts.
the question left is if really ot comes back, which could be questionable. on the other hand there are several mangaka who could come back, so no worry that we won't see at least one recognizable face.
Yeah he was responding to a question I made about some guy who was spreading erroneous info. I knew hj wasn't ending but I asked here in case I had missed some info.
Oh gee, that's awesome...! When I picked up the first volume of Hungry Joker yesterday (or rather 2 days ago) I was quite bummed about the Omake that came along with that one. : (
It was only a rather small Tsutaya that I stumbled across on a bikeride through my neighborhood, but I was still quite surprised to see that I got the last copy they had in stock.
Like most places, they also had a pretty cool shelf for Ansatsu! (Unfortunately I can't happen to find my shot of the huge ass poster they put up in Shibuya):
