Depth is important but doesn't matter if the character is shit from the start like for example Uraraka got some development during the sports festival but she is still a boring character and I could say the same about the majority of the class. Kirishima, Tokoyami and Todoroki along with Deku and Katsuki are the only interesting characters in the class the rest are likeable but are extremely boring to me. Black Clover has a shit cast but it has Yami and with all honesty I would take him over the entire MHA cast. I see Asui as nothing but a mascot and Tomura has a long way to go but as of right now he is a shit tier villain.

I get why these two are compared but you won't get much if you compare two shit cast of characters but apparently MHA's cast is "great" I would tell you to compare it to a manga with an actual good cast like OP or HxH for example but I remembered the story is about kids in a super hero school which explains everything.

Just because 2ch hates it doesn't mean that there aren't people who like it. It's a manga aimed at young kids. I doubt 2ch userbase is full of 11-year olds.
Ya know so does One Piece and that manga has more adults reading it than children most who got into it six years ago where got it its second big boost in sales than the people who's been reading it for nineteen years now. Don't just say BC mediocrity is an excuse because its a kids manga.

And about everything else, people called BC out because of the 'I want to be the King' premise. And I agree that the first two arcs were fairly bad, but from then on I think it can stand on its own as just another shonen battle manga. It's not good by any means, just not as bad as people say
And then you have the stock group of characters, a protagonist who seemingly exists to spout bad one-liners about friendship, and the oh so creative medieval setting. Its brought forth attention for the same reason as Nisekoi as in people couldn't believe such a bland generic piece of work could be approved and as bad as some titles like Hitman Reborn and Medaka Box were they at least were....unique to the say the least. BC isn't bad and there's some good amidst the sea of excrement but its not really worth the attention and even when it finally gets itself together people will never live down those bad introductory arcs.

Please, Yami is only "good" because everyone else around him is tripe, it has nothing to do with the quality of the character just that he's a golden turd in a sea of excrement. Can't say I share the same sort of sentiments with you in regards to the cast of MHA since I don't think it would hve garnered as much attention if the cast didn't click with readers and Hoirkoshi seem to be avoiding the pitfalls of Kishimoto and Kubo thus far though I do hope he doesn't regulate Urakara as being nothing more than a love interest ala Sakura and Orihime so we'll just agree to disagree.

OP is currently suffering from bloated cast syndrome where Oda is trying to balance it out though its not working out well I'm of the opinion that the cast was at its strongest before Franky and Brook came in who never actually got to ease into their roles like Chopper and Robin did, the cast is still good though just not as great as it used to be due the increase in members made it impossible for the same about of banter to be had like before and the cast of HxH are incredibly one-note, don't get any focus and die at random intervals that you can't really muster up the will to care at any point not sure how you can talk about depth and then bring up HxH as a good example, I love both manga but they're far from a benchmark of how to make a good cast of characters when the latter barely has any interactions among them anyways.

Yami is a "Golden Turd" oh please if he was in your favorite series then you'd be on your knees taking it like a filthy fanboy.
I find MHA's cast boring and I am entitled to my opinion just like you are but I can see the appeal with the cast but its just not working for me.
I said depth doesn't matter if the character is shit but I do think the main cast from HxH are much better than MHA's

Yami doesn't fit into any other series than Black Clover because he's a much needed dose of cynicism to counteract with everyone's overt optimism and the only character who's dialogue doesn't make me cringe. I'm sure if he gets more focused the manga will find some way to ruin him.

That's fine, I just don't find anything overtly offensive about the cast despite how simple they are even Mineta despite how he's not a particularly popular character to discuss and the fact that his character amounts to being a pervert and wanting to be popular. I just don't see what HxH does better when its pretty much just as guilty of ignoring most of its cast like Naruto and Bleach has done.

Pls , don't use the "if he was in your favorite series..." comodin, you are better than that.
Yami isn't a bad character, but isn't the best type in the Jump, Haikyu has better Yami than Black clover.
And not, Yami isn't better than any Jump manga cast right now(Well , maybe samon-kun) and that not make him worse character, this is like Yuragi MC, Strategy in WT(I love WT ehh), and other Jump Manga , it have one sorta different think and fan try to make a bigger deal to prove his shit is better than other shit(I accept that I say that too, ehh).

Warning, My Opinion is Ahead:

OMG, I survived reading Kimetsu no Yaiba. Oh man, I didn't think I was going to make it. Just, dang. In harsh terms, what garbage. The art is bad, the dialogue and writing is atrocious, and the series just reeks of amateur. My only comprehension as to why it survived this long is because it's so amateurish and bad that people mistake it as being different. Like, how did Kimetsu no Yaiba not get cancelled at volume 1. Why was Buddy Strike cancelled in a volume but not this trash. The only thing I really liked about it was some of the designs for the demons. The only enjoyment I got out of it was when my expectations where so low that the tiniest of things started to amuse me. I was literally stressing myself to finish the 24 chapters released so far. Like, ugh.

I'm not saying it's an excuse, I'm merely exposing the reasoning behind.

That's your personal opinion.

Ladies and gentleman. We have our new Sharkbait.
In all honesty though, I think the series is quite rough around the edges, I've been theorizing that this wasn't a serious try for the mangaka and he was using the Jump system to just have this first series be a trial run of sorts to gain serialization experience before it was cancelled 20 chapters in.
I don't think he expected the series to be successful, and now that it is he's stuck with it.
However, I think Gotoge does have a lot of potential. He really needs to work on his art, but he has some neat ideas and a pretty unique voice. He gives me Togashi vibes.
One of the things I really like about the series is the lonely atmosphere.

lol funny you say that the art is bad, when the art was one of the most praised things by Japanese.
the only gripe they had with the series was that it wasn't that interesting.

His art isn't bad, he has a pretty unique style tbh.
The issue is that he needs more work, that will come with the longer he is serialized though.

Nice troll bait mate. What don't you get about "Warning, My Opinion Ahead". I put that specifically there because I expected you to respond.

I think his art is bad and amateurish. Though, I understand that that's my opinion because art is completely subjective. His line art is shaky. His proportions are all over the place. Every character looks the same age because they have the same face. The series was, to me, a literal challenge to read. I don't think I've ever felt that way about a manga before.

'twas a joke, man.
But I don't think there's any question his art is amateur, however like I've said. It can improve with experience. He does have a good style going which he just needs to build upon.
I think it's possible for KNY to turn into something pretty good down the line but right now it's just kind of average for me. I'd much rather see Gotoge with a new series though.

The art of kimetsu is not well done and isn't terrile, simply like the story, character and in general is one Work:Amateur.
The difference between the first battle and the last battle saw is brutal, also the character is becoming more interesting (the MC have a nice develope , not great but decent).

More than Togashi I see more early jojo, Araki has a interesting style like Gotoge and with Jojo he play with that and look that guy and his art right now.
And I agree, I think he reserve Zig Zag if he fail.

2ch , Warota Channel, MDB, Honmanyomi and JumpSokuhou

being highly rated doesn't covert into sales at times, otherwise Isobee would be selling a lot better than it is atm.

(Isobee is another manga that you guys would probably say have shit/amateur art)

I'd quite like to see Zig Zag serialized.
It's something that I want Gotoge's art to be more refined though before he tackles it.
I think it'd be a much better fit for the current landscape of Young Jump as well, that way Gotoge wouldn't have to hold himself back with it. Shame that won't happen though.
Oh well, maybe he'll go to Young Jump in a decade or so.

Nah, I think Isobee has great art for the type of series it is.

What is Zig Zag about?
