Then you should read the manga or rewatch the anime. Since Hisoka IS the plot in early HxH.

Are you sure? Early HxH had the exam and that wasnt driven by Hisoka. Then was the relentless Heavens Arena which only had a nekkid Hisoka and thats all I remember for him? Id read heavens arena, it was so good.

Black Clover just seems very generic and a real mix of too many overused cliches. The hyperactive, loud, talentless-in-the-beginning protagonist, the genius rival, A dream to become the strongest, the protagonist gaining a dark power they are unaware of in the beginning, everyone looking down on the protagonist, etc. I really felt naruto vibes. My hero Academia also had some of these but the change to make Deku into this intelligent, battle-witty protagonist that doesnt come off as obnoxious and is likeable really is the game-changer. If BLack CLover can distinguish itself in the coming chapters then it might be a success but from the 7 chapters I read, its still lacking something.

Do you READ mangas or SEE mangas? A good story can save a bad art, but a good art cannot save a bad story.
Moreover, every Jump art is good, it is not something special that can stand out in the series. I can think of at least 10 series that has a better art.

I actually like it more than Nisekoi, but I also enjoy reading the back of my shampoo bottle more than Nisekoi

Hisoka is the direct responsible of Gon's growth in the early stages of the manga, and had a very important role in York Shin. The exam was a constant struggle against him until the Illumi fight. If you only focus on Killua, he's not that important, but focusing on Gon, he's the key. And he's awesome.

Hisoka is one of the best characters in HxH, a shame he's also someone we pretty don't know anything about (maybe we'll learn more during the Dark Continent Arc - whenever it continues anyway).
