Is it the first time that Boku no Hero Academia is in 5th place? I'm almost sure it is not the case, but I have to confirm, it is so strange.
Well, at least Haikyuu is in a high position, despite its quality, it doesn't make into the top 5 very often.... Hinomaru Zumou surprises me because it sells so bad, I think it is the first time that I see a series with so high ranking with so low sales, cancelled series sold better than it and yet... We already discusses theories in regard to this, but it remains a mystery... Besides that, nothing to comment. Roggy is doomed and.... that's it.

I would like to see how much it sells digitally, to see if there people buy more or not.

I see the things as a whole. It is getting better lately, but before and even when the anime was airing, it didn't have a big increase in the rankings.

Maybe Hinomaru Zumou doesn't attract new readers in the comic shops, but people who read the series in the magazine, know how the series is in reality and like it, should buy and I don't think there is less than 20k people in this group...

At least in the Kindle, it is in 315th place among comics, while the other series are in the top 50 at least.

Since it is the Shonen Jump TOC thread, we are discussing commercial aspects. That said, Nisekoi anime was very good, it got a second season after all. They wouldn't do such a thing if it weren't profitable. Generally, romance mangas doesn't have a huge increase like Haikyuu, Nanatsu no Taizai, Shingeki no Kyojin and so on, given this fact, Nisekoi increased a lot in popularity, the sales shows it. The series old volumes are appearing in the daily ranking and the anime has yet to start.
Conclusion, commercially speaking, it was a success.

Not just about the cover, but about the content. Deciding to follow a manga with a old school sport that has a lot of "not pretty" boys almost naked, is harder than other things, like volleyball. Certainly a lot of people like the series, but they just don't buy its volumes.
Basically Hinomaru for now is that kind of manga that is a good read in the magazine, but not for collecting. I hope an anime changes that.

Fujoshi(or any girl and boy that likes to buy titles with pretty boys) isn't that small. You can say that is a niche comparing with other groups, but they can very well make a series going from average low in popularity to being highly successful. Like from 20k to around 150k difference. If Hinomaru was about pretty young boys(Like Haikyuu!!), certainly we wouldn't be speaking about its weak popularity.

That reminds me of the sumo character designs from that otome I posted. Still bad move Zumou couldnt have been inspired by it. Though I think its just the concept of sumo and not just the character designs though. If it had been a baseball, soccer, or swimming manga, then Im quite sure it would be way more popular.
