Do Japanese people really care about such superfluous things? If you like something, you should buy it, it doesn't matter what people will say. :hmm
I should ask about it to some Japanese people I have contact...

If you like someone, you should kiss her/him in public, it doesn't matter what people will say, right? ^^
Oriental stuff, oriental rules. But, seriously, I don't understand either. Maybe it has to do with the age. Young boys are more concerned with "what others will think" than the older guys.

It depends on the duration of the kiss and the kind of kiss. However, it is different, we are talking about manga here, something that should be entertainment. There is anything to be ashamed of in Hinomaru Zumou, apparently.
Maybe, although the age of Jump readers has been high lately.

Dude, it's exactly like Jaguar was some years ago. Isobee's always last precisely because it's popular.

Fujoshi(or any girl and boy that likes to buy titles with pretty boys) isn't that small. You can say that is a niche comparing with other groups, but they can very well make a series going from average low in popularity to being highly successful. Like from 20k to around 150k difference. If Hinomaru was about pretty young boys(Like Haikyuu!!), certainly we wouldn't be speaking about its weak popularity.
I remember a few years back, maybe 2 years ago there was a Japanese article about how Shonen Jump's manga have way more female readers than the magazine would suggest. Haikyuu!! had the highest female readership, almost 70% of its readership was female. Of course not all female readers are fujoshi but you bet they are a substantial fanbase. In contrast, Toriko's fanbase is 70% male but the fujoshi fanbase try to be as vocal as possible, and due to last of motivation from male readers, fujoshi and bara artists make up most of Toriko's doujinshi and fan merchandising. So its unfortunate Hinomaru seems to slip through the cracks in terms of visibility.

What is this jump heroes? Is this something like ...(what was called?)... the Haikyuu!!, Nisekoi generation?

Are they saying that Black Clover is already that popular?

I think that what unites both audiences, male and female, in the case of Toriko, is the comical factor of the series. Zumou, on the other hand, is more "rough". Btw, I remembered that the AssClass movie's audience was 90% female.

My surprise with Black Clover is that, in the rankings, the series had an amazing improvement from the first to the second chapter. I've never seen it before. It wasn't a gradual thing, as with Kagamigami, it was a "boost". And it's weird because, in terms of story, little has changed. We are facing a new hit? :blink

That's why I didn't understand the "jump", there was no big difference from one chapter to another (and I'm not specifically talking about quality). And the second thing I don't understand is: if the manga was well received, as this second chapter and this "new heroes" stuff suggests, why put the first chapter in a lower position?

Or it is possible the week before where it was fourth was its first ranking. Remember, eight weeks is not a hard and fast rule. I also could see Black Clover having a big female audience.

According to this logic:
1 = 4
2 = 9
3 = 3
Yet, it would still be a roller coaster, but more consistent.

Lacks context in this scan, we have to see the entire page to see what they meant. Editors like to use hyperbole, we know this. It reminds me Jump NEXT! preview, that part they put the bangaihen from Jump series, but again it lacks context.

I really think that BLack Clover got a big female audience.

But the second chapter was really nice, things happened really fast.

And i think that Asta and his friend are a good couple ;D

Funny, I didn't think it was nice especially because it was too fast. But I agree that the manga has a lot of potential for the female audience. I'm really curious to know what will be the position of the series next week.

Black Clover is terribly written alongside being super generic.
I mean seriously? That's such a generic trope but delivered as bluntly as possible.
The big difference between My Hero and Black Clover despite both being techncally genericis that My Hero doesn't spoonfeed the audience and beat them over the head with tropes and cliches while Black Clover does.

You surely cannot appreciate the subtlety of all the aspects of this great comic. I mean, the writing puts Shakespeare to shame. We're in front of the new masterpiece of the millenium, I tell ya.
It doesn't matter that previously this author failed resoundingly and that this TOC results are out of luck

Tbf, the first couple chapters of BnH were walking cliches per excellence. You couldn't read the first chapter without stumbling over a shounen trope every two pages, sometimes three-four pages in a row. But yeah, in my eyes it is the MC and how he was shown that made the cliches more bearbale or less annoying or "meh" as people have called it here than it did with Black Clover.
I dunno, I could read BnH and smile and eyeroll at all dem typical shounen tropes thrown at me due Deku and later Bakugou, Iida, etc. But in BC, I don't give a ratass about any of those characters at all, they're loud, obnoxious and annoying as all hells combinded. Well, at least in my opinion. Then again BC feels like a Fairytale 2.0 and I never liked Fairytale to begin with. Could be the reason for me not liking BC so much. ^^

I see your point. Well I at least prefer Viz's translation over the fan one. Here's a comparison
