Let me rephrase myself.

"It's the best OP I've seen in years, of the series I've watched."

I consume 90% manga and 10% anime, and the vast majority of them are WSJ series, so I can't claim to have seen all anime in a season. Moreover, my WSJ disclaimer was for currently running, but I didn't specify, so that's on me.

I'll make sure to be more specific in the future.

I'd say Black Clover new opening is also better than Captain Tsubasa one. Hell, this Black Clover opening is the best Shonen Jump opening I've watched since last Haikyuu one, and surprisingly it would fit in top 5 wsj anime openings from this decade.

Only thing that got me bad was lack of Gauche when upcoming arc is going to be about him.

I feel that one of the things that could make or break a series is their OPs. I remember how I got into Naruto solely because of Haruka Kanata. If you don't have legendary-level openings like Flow's SIGN, you won't be able to attract new viewers.

I feel that one of the things that could make or break a series is their OPs. I remember how I got into Naruto solely because of Haruka Kanata. If you don't have legendary-level openings like Flow's SIGN, you won't be able to attract new viewers.

In the pre-Internet boom era, maybe. Now it's all about sakuga and GIFs. XD
And when I think of FLOW's work with Naruto, Go!! is what comes to my mind.

Funnily enough that FLOW opening has very limited animation and is mostly stills. Another favorite is the Asterisk opening from Bleach being filled with nothing but character poses.

I checked out the BC opening ready to be amazed, but that guys voice is just not good at all. It sounds like a forced voice. It could have been a lot better with a different voice honestly.

Funnily enough that FLOW opening has very limited animation and is mostly stills. Another favorite is the Asterisk opening from Bleach being filled with nothing but character poses.

The song is catchy, so the rest ends up being forgivable.

An opening can catch one's attention and become a reason to check out its series. But no, a minute bit of an animated song which is used to save budget and promote a musician never comes to be the deciding factor for a show' success.
