Chances of Haikyuu anime coming back is as good as dead now.

The Haikyuu/Ballroom dancing team are working on another sports series. No release date confirmed so far.

Act-Age still doing just slightly better than the other flops I see.

The consecutive volume releases isn't a great sign but there is a little bit of padding at the bottom, it'd be nice to see it survive another round or two and get to at least 5 volumes or so.

I wonder how long it'll be before we get the next end-of-magazine weird art gag series now that Lycopene's gone, I feel like those are probably the hardest genre to find good stuff for. I always get the impression gag-series creators tend to mainly want to do 4-komas which wsj doesn't run.

As much as a I adore Noah's Notes, Mankichi might very well be right about none of these 2018 titles sticking around. We got three multi year runners last year as well as the year before that. The lineup is extremely competitive at the moment because there's not really anything that can be thrown out.

The only big names that might be ending this year are Shokugeki no Soma and mayyyybe Gintama.

Although if Shokugeki ends in a few weeks alongside Ziga and Act-Age, and the two new series fail then I can see Noah's Notes or Jujutsu sticking around long enough to gain a following like World Trigger did by profiting off of everything else around it failing.

Maybe it's time Shueisha started hiring experienced writers along with artists to start a series instead of letting an amateur handle everything by himself. Not everyone is a genius like Oda or Togashi.

In togashi's case, he could have definitely used another artist to help him out.

When Togashi has the ability, he's a brilliant artist.
Nobody can do atmosphere like him, and his style is so versatile that he can change art style based off the vibe of the panel and still have it feel cohesive. His panel work is brilliant as well when he doesn't over indulge in text walls.

But seriously, can you really tell me that the standoff between Gon and Pitou during the Komugi hostage situation had poor art? Or much of the Netero vs Meruem fight?

Also, only hiring experienced writers or artists takes away newbie authors ability to grow. Jump has always been a place for newbies and it always should be. Only using stale veterans is Sunday and Magazines niche lol.

Also hiring experienced writers doesn't always work out; see Stealth Symphony (no matter what Sharkbait says it was not intended to be a short series, it was cancelled)

Sorry if I wasn't clear but what I meant is Togashi can't handle the weekly schedule. That's why I suggested he should have another artist besides him. Even in his recent interview he said something along those lines. (correct me if I'm wrong here)

If this is true then they shouldn't have scared away the authors of Attack on Titan and Komi-san wa komyushou desu by saying their stories couldn't work or be popular.

It's not about being stubborn and it's painfully obvious how many of you aren't artists yourselves.
Your art is a piece of you, your baby. It's an extension of your thoughts, emotions, philosophies, and everything you've learned and experienced in life.
I can't imagine letting someone else take my art from me and it's obviously the same for Togashi. Even if he canadmit it would streamline the series release schedule, he won't give up a piece of his soul to do so.

Holy shit. Kimetsu will be animated by ufotable? That's big news.

The visual looked great. Their A team is busy with Heavens Feel movie so it'll be handled by the Touken Ranbu and Zestiria team most likely. Also you shouldn't be worried about the CG because the Fate Zero screenshots are from 2013 when they started experimenting in their TV shows. Right now they're the best with mixing it with 2D and CG in the anime industry besides perhaps Studio Khara.

The CG in Touken Ranbu also didn't good and no they're not the best in the industry in terms of integrating CG into anime that would be Orange.

Doesn't matter anymore because I just found out it'll have different people working on it. Terao is also fully occupied with Heaven's Feel movies so it seems Kimetsu will avoid having all those crazy digital filters and effects.

Orange is a CG studio. They don't integrate 2D with CG. They used 2D drawings for land of the lustrous as reference for their 3D drawings.

Orange is a CG studio. They don't integrate 2D with CG. They used 2D drawings for land of the lustrous as reference for their 3D drawings.

They do. When they were working on Akito the Exiled, Fafner Exodus and Majestic Prince their job was specifically to integrate the 3D models into the 2D plane. Land of the Lustrous also has a 2D plane to put the 3D models on them and the animation itself is handdrawn that's why its production look much better than other full CG productions like Sidonia and the recent Souten no Ken because they don't just animate polygons.

The anime starts in October and could possibly be 1-cour, and also the director of Haikyuu is busy with another show until Spring 2019. My bet is this is the time Haikyuu will return.
