I doubt Jump is sending off Gintama with a full magazine Cover on it's last chapter when it's a treatment that's been reserved for only a handful of series.

And why would Gintama not be deserving?

So this issue contains the Spring Weapon popularity poll results? If so, there goes its ace in the hole for survival. I doubted they'd cancel it before revealing those popularity results, so it should be feeling a bit more danger now. However, Full Drive and Golem Hearts appear to be showing next to no prospects for survival.

So even if it's not confirmed to be ending in Issue 10, could we assume that it'll end sometime in the next several issues?

Personnaly, i think serie will end 10/02 (because 12/02 its public holliday) with 669 (with color page).

Unless I'm missing something that makes Gintama a series that is far more significant to Jump than Dragon Ball, Naruto, Yu Yu Hyakushou, Hokuto no Ken, Captain Tsubasa, etc.

Dude, I'm very happy that Gintama is having a satisfying ending.
But I'm very sad because I will not see any new chapters this year.

I hope Sorachi will return on Jump with a new gag manga.

Gintama is a series with a readerbase far beyond normal Jump readership.
It's odd, but given climax has usually alwsys meant final chapter for Jump series I wouldn't be too surprised.

Why? It had one of the most successful anime, merch and even live action. I think only Slam Dunk ended with a full magazine cover, right? I honestly think
Gintama deserves that treatment. It is legendary IMO and has a very strong following.

Probably for the same reason as why Naruto didn't get the cover page when it ended. It seems that the cover page position is kind of a rotation between the series, for the most part anyways, which could possible mean that there is no real reason behind why x series deserves to get cover page do to y reason if the series happens to end when it's turn to get the cover page rolls around then it'll most likely get it if not oh well I guess. That's just my take on it anyway.

Can't really see Gintama getting the cover for its final chapter. It means it'll probably end the week after that though, given how a fair few other popular series have gone out the same way.

Its not #4 since its a color page commemorating its return HxH is unranked. Haikyuu is #4 this week

...Because that's the highest a series getting a center color page can really get? Also it has a color page so it isn't really "ranked".

I'm sorry, I don't see how Gintama gets the cover, but Naruto didn't. Naruto was a much, much bigger deal.

It's almost never on the cover when it returns. It usually gets a cover or two during its run. No particular reason as far as I know, but Jump has followed this trend for nearly a decade now, at least from what I can remember off the top of my head.
