Interesting that the Viz issue was so short this week they had to put in 2 OPM chapters! And the author comment page looked so bare with all the gaps. No doubt they have to pick up something new, but I’m still of the opinion they’ll wait until they’ve closed the gap with OPM some more.

I'm 100% sure Act-tage and Jujutsu won't be added in Viz lineup in the future.

Too bad One Piece wasn't off next week instead so they'd at least have Seraph and BE to fill in some pages without need two OPM.

Yeah it seems pretty guaranteed that Viz won't be picking up Act-age or Jujutsu now, if they're filling a very low page-count week with double OPM. My guess is they'll continue putting in OPM on low weeks to keep it above 200 pages and maybe pick up something new in the next batch. They have to keep something eventually.

I wonder if this'll become a running theme, not picking up anything that has a slow-ish start and takes a few chapters to rank well until it's too late to go back to it. Who knows, maybe they'll finally pick up Kimetsu when the anime starts like when they got Soma really late on.

Probably since we're only one down so they can fill it with OPM and one-shots. No point in picking up series that look like they'll just be axed next round. It's not like when they picked up Love Rush and Red Sprite and they just lost Bleach and Nisekoi (and Toriko was about to go) so the magazine only really had 4 series (and One Piece was off every few weeks)

We’ve had 4 OPM chapters in the last 7 issues, 4 or which had Jump Starts or monthlies in them so there were none in those. Another 5 chapters till they catch up, assume 6. Take into account they like having a buffer they can use to beef up small issues, so they’ll probably aim to stay a few behind. None will appear next week because of Hot and the monthlies. Maybe none in the issue after that because of Boruto. Then we’ll have 2-3 small issues which we’ll likely get chapters in, one which will be missing OP, so depending on the length of the chapter they’re up to, we might get 2 again.

How quickly they close the gap is completely down to when the next round of series is gonna be I guess. If we do get one soon, that’ll delay the process with Jump Starts, meaning they can further avoid picking something up (or maybe there’ll be something worth getting straight away, in which case Jujutsu is defs getting screwed) After that point they probably will have to pick something up since their current weeklies will put them at about 140 pages, and in the last 14 months we’ve only had one issue below 200 page, and they havent had an issue below 160 pages for my entire 2.5 year subscription.

An another note, we’re still close to a year away from catching up on HQ with all things considered, so they’ll really have no choice but to pick something new in the next 2-3 months I think.

I still think Viz isn't picking anything until Build King or Kishimoto new manga. Meanwhile they can use OPM chapters and oneshots.

The count is different wherever you look. Based on how JB and MS number chapters, Viz just released 88/93 (although Viz numbered it as 86)

The chapter numbering is different in viz and that version. Todays viz chapter corresponds to #129.

coincidentally, this picture of Nakano was when he in Malaysia, for a One Piece exhibition , where no new official manga volume have been out there for over a year by then and I think they were no longer airing the dubbed (and sub) anime(which I think barely managed to reach Alabasta) [nope not even grand line]
