Writing is just as important as art.
Honestly I think it’s good that he’s only writing.
Dude is older now, and iirc he started getting health issues towards the end of Naruto.
If the manga turns out being great, this is probably a good way for it to maintain a healthy release schedule.

People have been suggesting a certain veteran mangaka should hire an artist and only write for years to avoid hiatuses.
Kishimoto only writing doesn’t make any less his series

Kishi's art wasn't that impressive IMO. I hated Naruto's art especially during the 4th shinobi war saga, not sure if it was always that bad.

You know what that means? Axe time! Been a very long time since we’ve seen something over 100 chapters canned. Honestly though, shouldn’t be an issue. We have an open slot for One Shots right now, and two of the latest round probably won’t stick. Maybe David won’t either too? Hinomaru, Yuuna and Soma all seem to be approaching their conclusions. Neverland too. All of them might even be gone within the year.
