My love for Kimetsu has been reignited very quickly after reading last week's chapter and seeing the spoilers for this week. Nezuko is awesome, she's way too adorable.

I didn't think I could relate to Gyuutarou since he was a piece of shit right from the moment he appeared, but here I am feeling bad for him after reading the latest spoilers god damnit

Wasn't this more or less the same with the villain (Rui) from the spider family arc? In terms of feeling sorry at least.

The backstory looks interesting from the quick skim through of the spoilers.

Sorta, but imo this time it was worse because
He basically grew up being abused and his sister's beauty was the only thing that made him ignore the fact that everyone mocked/abused him because of his uglyness, when she was going to be taken by a customer at the age of 13 she refused (I guess it was going to be her first time) and fought back taking an eye from the guy, then they incinerated her as a punishment and the customer (who was a samurai) cut him with a sword when he found out about his sister, some pages were translated already on 4chan (there's an archived thread) if you want to get a better Idea.

Looking at the daily Tsutaya and Honto rankings and realtime Bunkyodo, it's possible that Darling in the Franxx will outsell both Bokuben and Dr. Stone. It seems putting in nipples and overall fanservice really does help sell, though the anime airing and Yabuki's name might be giving it the edge here, though the same didn't happen for Juuni Taisen. Still, to think that a series (Dr. Stone) from the main magazine, especially something that's getting, or being given, this much attention is losing to the first volume of a series that has yet to do anything interesting (outside of the obvious).

Who could've predicted this? :cheez

You guys think the first volume of DarliFra will be as successful as World End Harem? I think it have a legitimate shot at being a 100k seller
I'm hoping Summertime Render and Saguri-chan do well too although not being above Vigilante and Astra in daily sales means they won't even sell 30k :(

30k would put them among the top series in sales in Jump+. Even Fire Punch and the like struggle to get there( though Harem and now Darlifra will easily get there). Personally, if they do close to 10k, I'd consider them successes especially considering its still the first volume. What's more disappointing is that Full Drive and Golem hearts seem like they might sell even less than those two series, looking at Honto and some online retailers, though we'll know for sure once POS comes out.

Has any volume of Spring Weapon broken 10k? Still mad they killed a consistent 30k seller (Samon) to keep it alive.

It is also far ahead than "We Never Learn" on Amazon, at least in the physical edition. On the digital version, it seems "We Never Learn" has a strong fan base, it is 9th among all mangas. Dr.Stone is 11th and Darling in the Franxx is 12th. Maybe it is because reading such spicy things in front of a kindle or tablet can be very expensive compared to a book of 450 yen. If you know what I mean. :3c

So Soma only got a CP for it's anniversary? That's kinda harsh from WSJ.

It only got CP for it's 4th anniversary too. Jump can be a bit weird with anniversary covers tbh.

It is hard to consider it a anniversary CP given that its anniversary is in November and it is February already. It is a shame that Shueisha already moved on from the series although its brilliance remains the same.

It had the cover for its 4th anniversary and the timing for it was accurate.

And that's why sales have been on a decline? :cheez

DarlingFranxx story seems so familiar and samey though. Surprised people here are considering it as the greatest thing since sliced bread.

I will answer with another question: Why Gintama is put onto a pedestal although it is going through the same process? :cheez
And you don't know how much it sells in digital, it is in 5th on Amazon now, ahead of Haikyuu. In any case, it is a lifecycle, it is rare the series that maintain the same sales until the end, I'm not even sure if something like Naruto ended without declining even a bit, it is common.

Answering a question with another question is not a good sign.

It's not going through the same process. Gintama as a franchise has reached a massive milestone with it's successful live action and is one of the top selling anime WSJ titles. It also experienced a growth in franchise sales from 2016 to 2017, unlike Shokugeki which fell off the charts and declined for 2017 :cheez. Besides, Gintama has been going for 70+ volumes which is a huge feat especially for a comedy/battle shonen so ofc it's going to be placed on a much larger pedestal than a wannabe food manga which hasn't really evolved much since chapter 1.

Yeah, I'm feeling pretty nervous for Saguri-chan. I really hope the people of Japan acknowledge this high quality series. The color pages are gorgeous and the main girl is so lovable.

I don't believe so. The scum was truly too good for this world.....
