Lmao, no one is overreacting about the gender of the mangaka. It's just uncommon for the creator of a shounen manga to be female, so people are commenting about it.

Nah, it is not that uncommon, there are a lot out there, including some famous ones. We have this question asked almost every new series round, it sounds like people are really looking for series made by woman as if it was something special, but it shouldn't be. I don't like the idea of special treatment by gender.

We Never Learn is in a bad spot about covers because there are too many girls and no definition about who is the protagonist, then the covers are overcrowded and bland, without any special features from any girl. This cover looks almost the same as the last one and it may look a problem of creativity. I hope that at least the Lead CP has more creativity into it.

There’s nothing wrong with the cover bro, it’s better than the last one even. 5 girls w/ 3 as mains to the 80 w/ 4 as mains Nisekoi had is a much better and less clunky ratio anyway.

Just looked at the raws of Bozebeat chp 4, bc I couldnt find a translated version-
And I must say, I am actually disappointed that the mangaka is capable of doing such stylish cyberpunkish-designs, or scenes like the ghost dragon around the Tokyo Tower, yet for some reason he tries to make this whole setting a secret things in this world. Just make it like MHA, let this whole spirits vs monks-thing influence the actual world and by doing this, make your manga more unique and visual interesting.
The mangaka can draw interesting stuff, no need to hide this.

And about the Hatsume Miku clone:
Welp, nothing will ever beat the original anyway

That volume had no action and was more wall texts than 33, which was setting stuff up and more engaging. Stuff with the princes is interesting but it has been slow as hell. Kurapika focus can’t overcome everything.

I agree. At first i was all for it but it's getting a little boring tbh but it does sound like some stuff went down in chapter 373. I think it really should kick up more the next volume. Hopefully lol

I think it's normal for people to be surprised and curious when the author is a woman, since in shonen this is not very common. But I also agree that often, especially in the current context, the gender is used as a shield, whether in real life or in fiction. See Wonder Woman, it's not a bad movie, however, Jenkins' direction is nothing special, Gadot's acting is nothing special, but people are treating it as if it were. Of course we need more female directors and female protagonists. No doubt. But it's important not to use this as an indicator of quality.

And those saying that Furudate is a woman just because has delicate hands. Holy shit.

I dont know why its normal for people to be surprised a content creator is female. Theres tons of lead female actors and manga writers. To be surprised a manga author is one seems to imply people are ignoring the countless ones before them even those who have won awards or made widescale contributions.

Females in leadership positions and decision making roles (movie studio or magazine head honchos) is what people should truly be surprised about.
