I can understand that the fans of the original style won't like it, but hey, if it makes it more appealing then I'm all for it. Anything to boost the manga sales even more. Also, it still looks cool, and that's what matters a lot.

Not every Precure season has good animation. That's just an impression created by cherrypicked videos and Go Princess Precure and Heartcatch Precure, which are the only consistently well-animated seasons. I'd say that stuff like Maho Girls Precure likely looked worse that DB Super.

I now know that. My question still remains, why are a lot of their best talents are on precure?
It varies actually. Precure has a better team rotation of animators in comparison to One Piece and DBS however its not consistently well animated and will usually suffer the same mishaps as the former two just not nearly as severe. Suite and Maho are generally considered to be the worst entries in terms of animation.

Exactly my opinion. If this so much as doubles the mangas current sales, I’ll be estatic and couldn’t care less if they butcher the adaptation.

Damn that key visual doesn't really give me much hope, maybe from another angle things look better. I'd like to see a PV as well but I have low expectations. So they're going for the fujo route and they made the mc more fujo friendly. I'm not a fan of the moe look. If only this became a fujo hit, that would make me happy, but that is not guaranteed. Will I be happy with a butchered shitty adaptation though? No way.

Eh, I think that production committee is fine, even more because those companies are the ones investing in these anime in different aspects or when a studio like Toei, Pierrot, A-1, Production IG, Sunrise or any other that are in these almost all the time. Of course, it can and need to be better but the model I think is reasonable considering the funding and everything related and how it's similar to what happen in other industries.

But going in another direction, what would be your idea for those productions without the committee? Who would fund those anime and do what those companies do? Also, without even acknowledging copyright and trademark involved between those companies and adaptations and many other aspects of these productions. There's so much things involved that I'm curious.
Honestly, I have no idea, if the industry still hasn't been able to come up with a better solution after so many decades. Maybe the anime industry needs to crash and burn first and then revive with a new plan and approach.

Face looks quite different from the source, but I'm fine with this. Now to see how it will translate to animation...
Direct comparison with this issue's CP:
No visible veins, no watch.

Do you even know what moe means?

That's the Tokyo Ghoul fan way of thinking
Tokyo Ghoul was in a better state sales wise a couple months before its anime at 100k per volume I believe, and it's much easier to market. Just the fact that HZ is getting an adaptation is a miracle in and of itself. Nothing wrong with making the designs more appealing. Us fans are just happy with what we get.

Define moe please. Did you want me to use cute instead? He sure doesn't look menacing, rough, tough and manly like in the manga.

Edit: "more appealing", nice joke. Saying nothing is wrong about it is something I disagree with.

Another edit: for the designs to be more appealing, they need to be an upgrade, not a fucking downgrade.

I think Bishi is the word you are looking for?

Funny that I hate TG :cheez. But it’s true. As much as I’d like a good adaptation, it’s just a means to an end. Of course, they could screw it up so bad it has zero impact on the manga, which would be devastating to say the least. But it wouldn’t be hard to increase the sales at least a bit.

Why are you so angry? I can understand the frustration for the change in character design, but I wouldn't call it an outright downgrade. I'd say it's more of a sidegrade.

I'm not angry, I just like swearing. I consider it a downgrade. A sidegrade, what is that?

Something different without it being a completely positive or negative change. Sure it lost its rough edges and shading that worked well for sumo, but like I said above, it gains a broader appeal, and HZ needs all the appeal it can get because sumo isn't exactly the most popular sport in Japan, despite it being it's national sport.

Official Shonen Jump board game, based on LIFE; Emma, Asta and Tanjirou are featured among the character figures:

Meanwhile, 70s titles are forgotten and don't get any love. Play Ball deserves some love :c

I mean, all Jump titles are there..Star tinglado with the 80s (being Kochikame the sole exception )

Of course, they could screw it up so bad it has zero impact on the manga, which would be devastating to say the least.
Or worse, the anime failing hard could have a negative impact on the manga and might lower sales, if we get really unlucky.

iirc the Keijio!!!! anime put the final nail into the coffin of the Keijo!!!! manga. The manga wasn't selling well and apparantly had low readership polls, and then anime flopped hard on disc sales and didn't give a sales boost to the manga either, so the manga was cancelled. Different magazine though, can't recall that happening to Jump manga from the top of my head rn
