Just read the second chapter of Noah Notes(i know, no Viz), that was really good, i Jujutsu and Act-Age to be cancelled, so it can survive with RxL and Ziga.

Btw, how is the reception of Ziga in 2ch?

Even if I think that Toei and Kimetsu is a good combination, the company is already doing a bunch of things that we publicity know. One Piece, Hugtto Precure, DBS Movie and now Gegege no Kitaro are there too. But who knows, maybe it's already in pre-production and we just don't know :eyeroll

So either pick one of two poisons or White Fox... Yes, I'll take White Fox, please! What made pick these 3?
Just popular picks really. White Fox has worked with similar darker themed series and Deen has been thrown around a lot.

What makes you think it's a good combination?

I think there's a chance for Toei to get Kimetsu as the anime will arrive earliest next year.

I don't even think RxL is in a position to get cancelled atm. It's selling more than double the amount of HZ and more than Dr. Stone on top of that. Wasn't it the former Dragonball editor who said that manga sales are everything that matter. At least I wouldn't really understand it if they cancelled one manga, but then keep a manga that sells only half that much instead. So I don't think RxL will get cancelled unless the sales suddenly go down by a lot. I actually think Jump currently is more in a need for new series to survive because Gintama is close to ending.

I think that there's two reasons for me. The first one is because I think those characters combine with Toei's character designers and color pallete (With Mononoke as a big example) and second because I saw the PV of Kitaro and I would like to see the demons animated in such style just like the yokais. Either way, it could be good with a good staff and using a 24 episodes model.

Yep, I don't think Laserbeam is in danger too. Laserbeam sells almost the same of Dr. Stone and Bokuben even if it's like 5 or 10k behind of them. At the same time, Laserbeam sells even more than Zumou and the manga is serialized in jump since 2014 and now with a anime..

Ziga chapter two was still pretty dry and unimpressive. Not sure I like the direction Noah is taking, but it’s keeping my interest at least. It’s definitely way more solid.

Mononoke is probably the only good example that fits with Kimetsu. I just can't think of the last WSJ title that made me think it was a good fit with Toei.

A 24 episode model? More like 50+ with dragged out pacing and 6 minute recaps.

Well, the long-running model is a strong possibility considering the business model of Toei but they did other seasonal shows in some years like Kyosou Giga and Mononoke even if it was original so I wouldn't rule out that.

It's a WSJ adaptation so ofc it's going to be a long runner in Toei's hands. Kyosou and Mononoke can be ruled out since the former is a toei original title and the latter aired on noitamina which is late night and also known to have really unique animes. Kimetsu won't be having the same treatment as Mononoke that's for sure, different target audiences.

Toei would really miss the mark on getting the dark atmosphere of Kimetsu.

Pretty sure it won't be Toei or any of the big studios because we know for a fact that most of them have been booked until 2020 last year. It's one of the reason why I believe they haven't announced anything for TPN. If KnY announces an adaptation this year, it'll probably be done by some studio like Gonzo or Xebec.

Well, fair enough. You convinced me.

Xebec or Gonzo for Neverland would be terrible lol

We do know that's currently a problem, but it doesn't mean studios can't make an exception and it doesn't mean there isn't a big studio that does have a free slot or that there is a big studio that's willing to take on another project, especially if it's from WSJ. For example, look at BnHA, you could clearly see that Bones were already extremely busy with many other things for that time, but when they suddenly had the opportunity to adapt that manga, they didn't hesitate.

Well, if KnY or Neverland get adapted by either Xebec or Gonzo, I know I won't be expecting much.

I don't remember a reception so good in internet in a new Jump manga since Boku no Hero Academia. Let's hope japanese people feel the same as us and Noah Notes gets succesful.

The Promised Neverland?
It's reception (and Dr.Stone ones) were also very positive in their debuts, but I'm feeling way more quantity of comments from Noah Notes. Last time there was so much people saying a new manga was good was Hero Academia.

I guess one reason of that can be that we've been most than one year without a new Jump success, and Noah's Notes so far is being really good and solid.

Quite sure jump would want mangas that sell 4+ times as much as these manga, so if something promising comes up.. things will be cute. Does one think they are content with 50-70k sellers.

For that to happen, there has to be a new manga that actually sells that much. If the next serialization rounds end up doing as poor as the ones in 2017 (excluding the first one), they'd only lose money by cancelling RxL. Why cancel a manga that sells around 80k when it's not even guaranteed that there will be a manga selling 200-300k within the next 1-2 years?

The last one that sold 200k+ was TPN which started 1.5 years ago. The last one before that was BC which started 1.5 years before TPN, but also needed 2-2.5 years to reach 200k if I remember right.

They'd be better off just continuing the manga until there's a new manga actually selling that much. And tbh, even in that situation they're still better off cancelling new manga that don't sell much.

From the current serialization round, I don't see any manga potentially selling 200k. If Dr. Stone is only selling around 80k after a year, then Noah's Notes might end up doing similarly.
