Gakyuu Houtei ran for about half a year though. Plus Ziga is guaranteed to survive the next cancellation round either way, so it's already guaranteed to run at least around half a year. The last manga that didn't run for at least around half a year was Demon's Plan, I think.
Silly me, for some reason I remember it only lasting ten chapters.
Regardless, it just further shows that veteran series usually get special treatment.

It's based off a one-shot he created.
He's currently doing a series for Kodansha in Young Magazine so probably can't technically work for both companies at the same time hence the pen name.
Not that hard to put the pieces together,
Boichi's working in Jump and Young Magazine at the same time without a pen name.

Fair point.
Regardless, I've never seen any evidence to suggest that Sano Rokurou isn't Yoko and plenty of very convincing circumstantial evidence to suggest he is.

So is he the one doing the story then? Since the the mangaka doing the story is called Rokurou Sano. And one of Shuudan's main characters was called Rokuro. Could be a coincidence though. But you're right, looks like he did a similar oneshot five years ago.

Most likely. I didn't even think of the Rokurou connection. Damn.
No other credits to Sano, and the artist is Yoko's assistant .

Really? Only connection I could find was that they were both Shiibashi's assistants.
But looks very likely that Yoko is the story writer for Ziga. Pen name could be because Shuudan just ended two months before Ziga started.

Ziga really is the best out of the 3. My only issue was the ending of the 3rd chapter. Ko mentioned Amagi as his drive to kill Ziga. But didn’t even mentioned his own mother. That didn’t make any sense to me. Family comes before everything, the author was extra petty for that. Unfortunately I can’t say confidently it’s not getting canceled in 12 chapters. It’s different and the art is the biggest things going for it.

I actually really like Ziga, but feel the art is a bit stiff. Noah's Notes is my favorite of the three.

I can't wait for new series focusing in comedy. After Saiki ended and Gintama is going to end, there's zero series entirely focused on it.

Haven't heard any responses from the first two episodes of the new Captain Tsubasa anime here. When Houshin Engi started we couldn't shut up about how bad the adaptation was and now that's flopped and been buried it seems like it doesn't matter. Overall I thought the first two episodes was solid enough, the story is of course "of its time" but it gets you situated pretty fast. David seems to be on autopilot with though compared to Jojo.

If tsubasa had simulcasts on popular platforms perhaps one would hear more people viewing it.

Ay before the Ziga topic goes away I thought of something: what was the last “edgy” manga to succeed? Doesn’t have to have an anime, like just last longer than the 3 volume axe period?
