Wasn't it revealed in a recent interview that he made Kubo, Kishimoto, Shimabukuro all promise that they'd return with a new series while he was the EIC?

While I don't remember if it was series or simply new work, which can mean series or simply one-shot, I do believe the intent is probably to get all of them back in Jump, either the main magazine or Jump+. Plus, Nakano was the one who initially raised up Toriko so he probably really wants Shimabukuro back and thus this oneshot could simply be a "test the waters" kind of thing before coming back later in the year with a full blown series.

You should be preparing yourself for the "It's the next Attack on Titan and Death Note" instead.

If Araki is chosen as the director, there's a big chance of that happening. I'm not a huge fan of the guy's overdramatic style, but it's undeniable his ability to grab the attention of the audience.

Kimetsu will not have an anime. It will get a live action in which Tanjirou will be played by a 32-year-old idol.

They are very very new so we might have a Golden Kamuy on our hands however they worked on FRANXX which while its not a good show had some impressive character animation and the tone fits the first arc of the series well so we'll see.

Are they really new? They were a branch of A-1 Pictures that recently decided to rename themselves, at least that's what I've heard.

As a manga lover I on the contrary think Watsuki does deserve a second chance, it might be funny that a guy who wrote a manga with the theme of redemption doesn't get the chance to redeem himself. Yes it does leave a sour taste in my mouth and of course I can understand people thinking "what if by the money he's getting from me purchasing Kenshin he gets those videos, which means I'm supporting unwillingly child prostitution?". If I can sympathyze with a character moving from bad to good, a human most certainly deserves a second chance.
On another note, much like I can listen to Michael Jackson's "Heal the world" and I think it's an amazing song, and not hear "Think about the children" and get pissed like hell, I can disconnect my feelings towards Watsuki as a preson and appreciate Kenshin as a great work of art.

What do you think he needs to do in order to atone and have a fair chance to return as a mangaka?

You're using a idealistic view of the world, aimed to japanese teenagers, as a moral justification to child prostitution. Or i'm not understanding it very well.
Also, congrats for Neverland! Any info about the anime?
