Speaking of Ashihara and WT: There are only 9 chapters left until another manga which started after it, BC, has the same amount of chapters. After that the next two manga to reach it's chapter count would be Yuragi (currently at 109 chapters) and Kimetsu (at 108 chapters).
Feels weird that a manga which started 2 years after WT will catch up and overtake it. Even weirder is that manga which started 3 years after it could take it over by next year if the hiatus continues.

To speculate a tad, this issues chapters had a deadline before golden week and typically the normal schedule is about 10 days ahead of the street date. So I'm guessing the schedules were tight so that's why series like Black Clover and MHA were suffering as a result. Instead of having breaks in between they had to deliver beforehand then take a break.

So basically, its possible that the mangaka had to do two chapters within a week to 8 days. If based on that 10 days ahead deadline, the the first deadline was around April 22 and the second was around the 27th right before Golden Week began then its fully understandable why there would be problems. Its incredible how Boichi is handling this though. If he has similar deadlines for Origin then he had to do 4 chapters in the same time-span, unless he's ahead in that production.

Boichi is a robot. He took a break couple months ago to change his oil.

Several mangaka often say that the hardest part of a deadline is not the art, but the storyboard. Thinking about the dialogues, angles and cliffhangers and how it will be distributed over the pages requires too much time. I remember Horikoshi saying that sometimes he draws everything in only one day.

Well, they must be busy with their animes, advertising and stuff. The new guys only have to worry about their respective manga. Series like Souma, TPN and Dr. Stone are done in pairs. And Oda is an alien. Furudate's art style has become much more simplified, I believe it was to save time.

Maybe the deadline did affect Boichi. That color page looks lower quality compared to the last one. Kohaku’s and Ruri’s faces look weird too, and yeah I’m already aware all his women look weird already.
