I'm glad that the KnY fans for the most part aren't accepting of him to begin with since they use "cancel no yaiba" whenever he mentions the series but he's going to bring his cancerous fanbase on it. Also, it's obvious but he even admitted he jumped on bandwagon because it's being adapted by ufotable.

I'm more angry that Viz is sponsoring his cancerous content, and this isn't even the first time they used him for their promotions, they used to promote Naruto reprints not too long ago

I remember when he claimed he brought them traffic by reviewing Black Clover chapters using fan scans and ask them for free shit, pretty sure he will do it again and this time they will get no sympathy from me

That said, if he gave it a chance and genuinely likes it, then cool. But I honestly can't tell if that's true, or if it's just because it got an anime announcement, therefore it may be more profitable in the future to talk about it.

how many manga reviews are large enough to bother promoting your product through that don't review fan scans though? I don't watch any because all the ones I've seen just talk about leaks.

None and that's kind of the point, there's no big manga reviewers worth sponsoring. None of them are any more worth listening to than some random guy on a forum insisting their opinion is correct.

If they reviewed volumes or legal chapters in viz jump or crunchyroll or something (like how Linkara for example always has a physical copy of whatever comic he's reviewing) would be one thing but actively reviewing and promoting fanscans (especially chapters leaked before the official release) just promotes the fans to seek out the fanscans, which is absolutely not something Viz should want be encouraging.

I know the sample size is small (only 319 people), but it's still more than those Twitter tags for each series that were posted the other week, so I figured I'd share it. If these voters end up being representative of the larger Japanese population of readers, I'd imagine that Momiji will begin to decline like Bozebeats did when it first started ranking. Also, since Zumo and Yuuna are getting CPs next issue, they won't be as low as usual, so I'd imagine that Invade You is going to rank pretty low for its first chapter.

Most of the Twitter comments I saw that had Seiji Tanaka tagged in it were talking about how they couldn't believe how long the title is or talking about what the abbreviation could/should be rather than the actual impression of the chapter lol. Initial Twitter comments about Alice to Taiyou seem pretty good so far

I think the problem is a lot of people on Reddit/Youtube/whatever think Jump releases Thursdays so that's when they're looking up reviews. There probably are reviewers that wait until Viz's release but no one has heard of them because by that point the mass public have already watched reviews. Unfortunately Youtube rewards first not quality.

Have you guys ever heard of Comic's explained. It's a guy who goes in depth on comic book story arcs, and does tons of research into origins, references, and author notes on said arc.

I always thought a great manga youtuber would be something like that. Where instead of doing week by week reviews they wait for an entire arc to finish so they can really go in depth on it.

I'm kind of expecting them to wait to see the newest series' reception first. Act-age and Jujutsu have been doing passably enough to be potential pick-ups but they're definitely not safe yet, and since they'd need a while to catch up there's the risk of having their choice get cancelled just as they're finally current on it.
