If people constantly complain about it here, nothing will change. It's up to the author if he wants to expose himself to his replies on social media or not, he can still keep a Twitter account, but never read the replies. Or he can just delete the Twitter account.

I also ignore fanbases. This shit always happens to the most popular stuff, get used to it.

Kind of hard to ignore it when it's been brought up multiple times on Twitter by different people.

I don't ever see it brought up on Twitter. I guess it depends who you follow.

People will start to obsess over a fanbase, which ultimately doesn't matter when it comes to the content itself. Is it going to be the same on here?

Will people just care more about how this or that fanbase did something bad rather than just focusing on the manga or the anime itself?

I won't speak on fanbases but saying creators shouldn't use or look at twitter is quite hard/impossible nowadays. Its the go-to in terms of advertisement and just getting your work out there. Even if you're in a hugely mainstream magazine like Jump, your work won't necessarily gain attention, Momiji being a great case of this. It gets attention without a doubt but its nowhere near other series. Its niche within niche though in another magazine this level might be very noteworthy. Its just unavoidable to look at social media and try to drum up support, even giving the fans what they want so as to get this. To begin with, Jump has always been a magazine where the readers are placed at the forefront. If your work doesn't appeal to the readers, its cancelled. Giving the fans what they want while also putting in your own twists is one way of doing so and I believe the main way to hit it big in this magazine. Almost every hit series in the magazine has done this and has tasted success. Neverland put the fact that its been getting a lot of interest on SNS on its volume wraparounds.

One way to possibly get social media support without being in direct contact is to do like Oda, have a middle man manage the social media accounts. He cares about reaching as many people as possible but he doesn't always talk directly though he probably does look through as he's probably connected to the internet as well.

In Horikoshi's case, he has a very large following. He doesn't need to look at whatever messages he gets, but he can just continue to post his own stuff on there.

Newer mangaka don't have hundreds of thousands of people following them. There are plenty of creators that don't use Twitter, like Shirai from TPN as a quick example.

Maybe middlemen are the right answer for the most popular authors. (who knows, someone like Horikoshi might already have one)

Because they are toxic and harmful and can cause mental harm (sometimes even physical harm when they get outta hand) to authors, mangaka, singers etc. etc. Facing your own demons is not even remotely in the same context as overreacting fandoms who think they are owed anything. There was this facebook fan page for Bleach where the admin right until the last chapter was thanking Kubo for everything and then when the last chapter released and it shipped the characters he didn't have in mind, he lost his mind and went on a rant on how Kubo betrayed him and all the fans etc. etc.

Want a more brutal reality of the effects of overreacting stupid fans? Just recently, the actor who voiced Jar Jar Binks in Star Wars Phantom Menace said he was on the verge of killing himself because of how much the fans threatened him and abused him for that one role. You can bet your ass that there would be others we dont know who probably would've actually developed mental health problems because of threats. Anxiety, Depression are all no joke. Its fine to be critical about stuff in the right manner but unfortunately we live in an era where people take it out on the creators directly without any thought of the deep repercussions it can cause to that person.

So if you're one of these fans who overreact to nonsense thinking you're owed anything, my comment applies to you and anyone reading this as well.

Like I said buddy that's life, it up to Kouhei and Kubo to choose how they react to the situation, you can react negatively or positively the choice is yours also that's the price of being famous, there will be people will be like that. YOU are in charge of your own happiness nobody is going to make you happy for you. you can choose whatever you want to do, but I tell you this because I am concerned about your happiness Yes I agree with you its toxic and unfair but that's part of life but I can promise life will get better even we are progressing slowly we will get there. So smile and don't let your ego consume you. Enjoy yourself in these dark times and help others lift their spirits because that what really counts.

Oh man a western fanbase that complains about a chapter before release on twitter, what a new and sudden development /s. So yeah this whole thing is stupid at this point as proven with other fandoms.

How are the Japanese fans reacting towards this arc anyways?

Also, finished reading Burn the Witch and I found it to be okay, It wasn't anything special but seeing Kubos art was nice.

Sure it does but doesn't even remotely mean I can't call them out for being shitty. It is a shitty thing to be doing no matter the circumstance. You can try telling me that it happens all the time or whatnot and I wouldn't care. It is a shitty thing to do.

Like I said buddy that's life, it up to Kouhei and Kubo to choose how they react to the situation, you can react negatively or positively the choice is yours also that's the price of being famous, there will be people will be like that. You fail to understand that for many it's as simple as "choosing to be happy". That's not how any of this works. If you see a comment, you cannot just CHOOSE to ignore how it affects you, assuming it does. That has always been the problem with such things. That's why understanding mental health is important. You don't choose how it affects you.
Calling fans out when they are being spoiled pieces of dung is the best way to stop this harassment because what they do is cyber bullying. The funny thing is that I'm sure half of these fans don't even actually support their favorite series. They just read illegally and watch illegally and think they are obligated to have an opinion that matter.

Oh, for one part sweet for me since I won't have problems in holidays. For other part, didn't Volume 2 book come just the same week the exhibition 2 started?

Well, in September the trilogy will be complete.

Volume 02 book came out around 2 weeks before "official date" but not when Shonen Jump Ten Vol. 02 started.

Maybe Volume 03 book come out a bit early, but not this week or even in July. Official date is "late August".

Still no new series pick-up announcement from Viz. Looks like this'll be another Kimetsu situation where they miss a promising series that'd fit in English Jump well because they left it too late.

yeah they'd get a lot more attention announcing there than at the back of the magazine. Similar to how they announced Burn the Witch through their Anime Expo panel then the following magazine. Next week seems to have Shokugeki no Sanji anyway or they might be waiting to see Alice and Taiyo's reception before locking in anything (since chapter 3 is in this issue)
