Is cricket even known in Japan aside from the few manga that touch upon it as a sport from England?
Also, that manga would be boring af. Just imagine matches that go to 400 runs+ because, lets face it, if its in a manga you can be sure there would be over the top matches all the time. Unless ofcourse they restrict the matches to 10 overs in the manga. Then, it'd stand a chance.

I'd prefer to see another tennis manga. A well made tennis series can have a really good hype factor. But it needs to be able to capture the motion and intensity without which it'd fail pretty hard.

People have brought up Shimabakuro and Kishimoto but anyone know if Yusei Matsui has made any rumblings? I haven't paid much attention to interviews with him but that Assassination Classroom spin-off anime did have a teaser in the crossover with Neuro Supernatural Detective. He's had two pretty successful series so far so I imagine he'll be back eventually.

Maybe he'll return but he has basically given no information hinting at something new. He pretty much faded away after AssClass ended, even the interview in the recent Jump Catalogue is from April/May I think.

I don’t think so. I remember it came up in conversation in one of my Japanese classes and the teacher who’d been living in Australia for 10 years (Cricket is pretty big over here) had never even heard of it lol.

I've always wondered: has there been or is there a possibility of a manga with a zombie theme being accepted in the Jump? :hmm

Thinking about it, 2018 isn't being a bad year at all. Jujutsu and Act-age having little repercusion because they are still unknown and Viz ignores them, and the lot of new titles which have been axed make it to look like a bad year but...

2018: 2 titles (Act-age and Jujutsu)
2017: 2 titles (WNL and Dr.Stone; you can add RxL for 3 titles but...)
2016: 3 titles (Yuuna-san, Kimetsu and Neverland, 4 titles with Boruto)
2015: 1 title (Black Clover, 2 titles counting Sesuji)
2014: 2 titles (Hinomaru and Hero Academia)
2013: 1 title (World Trigger, 2 titles counting Isobe)
2012: 4 titles (Haikyuu, Assasination Classroom, Saiki, and Shokugeki)
2011: 1 title (Nisekoi)
2010: 0 titles
2009: 3 titles (Kuroko no Basket, Beelzebub, Medaka Box)
2008: 3 titles (Nurarihyon, Toriko, Bakuman, 4 titles if counting Psyren)
2007: 1 title (Sket Dance)
2006: 1 title (To Love-Ru, 2 titles counting Mx0)
2005: 1 title (Neuro)

2018 even can still end as year with 3 or even 4 titles, depending of next serialization round or Alice suddenly skyrocketing

PD: Seeing this trend, 2019 or 2020 are going to be big years. More like 2020 tbh
There's some manga missing in your list like Inumarudashi in 2008

Yeah there were 2 manga Zombie Powder and Zombie Gun. Zombie Powder was axed in 4 volumes but Zombie Gun was really successful. The main character in Zombie Gun is a zombie.

Just give me break dancing and I'll be happy. Even if it's a short series, but break dancing with the dynamic art of the ballroom e yokoso manga would be insane.
way to niche to be interesiting, the smallest of the anisong fandom watches the random jpn break dancing videos

About what I want in a new serialization with the 4 manga that are ending, I think that I want one comedy, one sports manga about Beach Volleyball, one manga about samurais and another about aliens

isn't Sumo pretty niche among young kids? Ice hockey is too and they were at least willing to try a one-shot of that.

Thank you! I had completely forgotten one of the past works of Kubo, or rather, I have forgotten the presence of Kubo inside the magazine :XD besides his most recent one-shot, Burn The Witch, we have not had more news about him, have we?

As always, I'm just waiting for Shun Numa to make a comeback, the magazine needs more straight comedy series after all. On that note, a new sports series wouldn't hurt either. Also, if World Trigger comes back that would make my week, I feel a little more hopeful this week (for some reason, idk) but I'm probably setting myself up for disappointment.

Also, on the subject of Zombie manga, Yuji Kimura (U19) did a one shot zombie manga called “Garden”, which is translated on mangadex.

I've posted Hinomaru poll results page in Hinomaru thread.

You know that next spokon will be on ice hockey, a sport which hasn't had any representation in Jump so far. And is going to be a Hot spokon :zomg
