I agree. Isekai has been popular for how long and Jump hasn't made an "answer" to it? Same with idol stuff (I think Jump's tried this one a couple times though). I don't see why suddenly Goblin Slayer is something they need an answer to. It's not like its taking over Japan and no one is talking about anything other than Goblin Slayer and series that copy off it.

Must of missed it too then, I saw someone saying it's a crazy success. Regardless some type of weekly monster series where it doesn't make you think too deeply about anything and doesn't try to be something it's not would do it. Bare minimum of everything, just straight to the point. Shock and edge is a lost art that isn't done right majority of the time.

To be fair it did win several awards this year. You should be laughing at Black Clover which has had an anime for a year yet its boost is worse than it. Poor Zumo though even BC got a boost after its first few episodes.

zumo is a big oof moment, backlogs not appearing at all even in the daily really mean the anime have not (yet?) entices people to buy volumes, even the current volume is not showing improved legs when compared to past volumes with similar days

(though you actually need to consider the competitions when comparing rankings)

I really don't know what to think of this. The anime has been fine thus far and you would think that all this time its been running in Jump it would at least catch some interesting down the pipeline but I guess Sumo wresting isn't that cool for the hip youngsters in Japan and not even fujos want in on it.

Sumo occupies that awkward space of being an old traditional thing, national sport in name only to stuff like baseball. Hinomaru didn’t do anything to dispel this notion, and so I’m not surprised that WSJ’s teen audience aren’t that into it. I don’t think the anime can change that much.

It's worth noting there are 13 different anime airing on Fridays this season, it's a bit harder for Zumou to stand out when there's that much competition. It probably wouldn't be huge either way but airing on such a full up day certainly won't help.

I'm surprised we haven't seen Black Clover or MHA reveals for Jump Force yet, you'd think at least one of them would be a big early trailer since they're essentially current jump's representatives.

We havent seen anything newer than Death Note for Jump force though.
