Kinda worried at MHA. Results with no color page for 80k votes is not normal
Yep I know people are going to say its more important that he focuses more on getting the chapters out orderly then color pages but its really disheartening that we're not even going to get one last color spread for the year even for a popularity poll considering the last one was in July.

There's plenty of Battle shounen right now.

What WSJ really needs atm is a new successful sports series since Robo didn't work out in the end. Hinomaru may possibly be in it's last arc (that or second last) and while Haikyuu's probably still got a couple years left it's gradually getting closer to the end. No doubt they'll want some new sports series to tie into the 2020 olympics.
So you're thinking that the four are going to be one battle manga, two sports series and a romcom?

isnt that unpresidented?
Last Souma popularity poll had no color page. For him to skimp on a color spread this year means he's really back up or didn't feel the need to.

I'm fully expecting volume 21 cover to be bare bone like volume 15 cover at this point.

With Tanaka and Alice gone, World Trigger leaving, the miniseries ending, and HxH going back into hiatus soon (probably), we could easily get 5 new series without losing anything else.
I don't think anything ended for World Trigger or COMIQ so I don't think them leaving would open a new space.

I'm surprised to not see hxh is going on hiatus in #52. Not getting my hopes up yet though
The next volume quota is close to being filled so we expect a hiatus announcement within the next couple of weeks.

I bet that Kimetsu will get the bigger boost but ultimately TPN will seller more. TPN is already selling around 400-500k. We dont know what block Kimetsu airs at and what time so that could play a big factor.

Ufotable is putting a lot of care into it seems with episodes already completed.

I imagine it'll just be 2 new series for now (assuming HxH goes on hiatus in a couple issues), due to World Trigger and Comiq being extras and them probably keeping a slot open for the winter oneshots.

I wouldn't be too surprised to see a sports series of some kind in every batch of new series until they find one that's not an instant flop.

Really? I thought there was a slot open beforehand. Now that Alice is gone, there are 18 series still in the magazine. World Trigger is leaving, Boruto is monthly, and HxH will go back into hiatus soon enough. So there are only 15 series with consistent weekly releases (included One Piece since it only misses an issue every 3-5 chapters)

I agree. Comedy is already picked by David-kun and Japan for now so it's the only thing that really needs to be addressed.

I agree and I have said it many times but I would love a rock-climbing or cricket manga. I suppose cricket would have to be a long runner but it would work and has potential to be a pretty big hit if done well.

It'd be challenging for me to be interested in a sports series, but I'd be interested to see a co-ed dodgeball series. Too bad I don't think dodgeball has basically any presence in Japan.

I wonder how long Haikyuu has left in it anyway, considering how long some of the matches are getting. I think there's just 3 major matches to go + probably a couple short cutaways to Fukurodani matches, so maybe about 100 to 150 chapters? Assuming it doesn't go into second year of course.

It'll almost certainly still be running during the Olympics so they won't be completely barren on sports but I hope we get something new that sticks by then.

I'm really looking forward to some new series, I'd like to see something new that has stability, since I don't know how things will go for the two comedies from the last round.

Mmmm i hope that hori is fine :(, now this is very strange becouse 80000 votes is bigger.
I think a hiatus would be worse, so this isn't the worst outcome. If doing extra color work is too much to handle right now, I think it's fine if he takes the safer path.

They wouldn't be able to try new sports series forever if they failed again and again.
If there's only 2 new series that would be underwhelming. The quicker they find something new that sticks, the better.

I don't think a new sports series would be essential since they will be able to rely on Haikyuu for a while. They will probably try sports again, but they can't focus too much on it. Making it their main priority would be a risky move.

At this point, anything that sticks will be great for Jump, let the games begin.

80k votes is as much as OP's 6th popularity poll and is bigger than all of OP's previous polls. Heck, its up there with the biggest series in terms of total vote numbers but to not have a colour page to announce it is actually interesting, in a worrying sense. I've accepted 15p chapters as its really nothing big to worry about but for something this festive its basically unheard of.

I was not worried at all before, but now im seriously questioning wth is happening. It is not like the quality of his art has been declining, just the pages.

Yeah that's what kills me too! 80k votes and no color page is really disheartening. I could deal with no color page for the 200th chapter if it meant he was really working hard on the color page but here we are with possibly the biggest poll in the series and no color spread. No matter how you slice it that's really disappointing.
