I wonder if MHA was meant to have the cover next issue? If they need someone to fill in for the cover Posuka and her speed would indeed be the best choice.

Last Souma popularity poll had no color page. For him to skimp on a color spread this year means he's really back up or didn't feel the need to.

This gave me curiosity. Besides SnS, was there any other occasion where a manga does not get a Cover/CP in celebration of its popularity poll?

I was not worried at all before, but now im seriously questioning wth is happening. It is not like the quality of his art has been declining, just the pages.

Here's an optimistic take. Hori is scheduling his things well enough so he can still deliver his weekly chapters in proper quality and with the lesser page count he can keep up without screwing up his health. Anything extra in terms of work would potentially throw things into chaos and we don't want that. A less optimistic take would be that he's struggling a lot each week.

The first two OP polls didn't have a color or cover. The first HxH poll and the second wasnt even revealed in the magazine.

Honestly, I have no idea how long it takes to do a color page, but I wouldn't have minded a 1 or 2 week break if he got to do the color spread. The 2nd popularity poll spread is my favorite poll, and the 3rd one was good too so it would've been nice to see another.

Honestly, I have no idea how long it takes to do a color page, but I wouldn't have minded a 1 or 2 week break if he got to do the color spread. The 2nd popularity poll spread is my favorite poll, and the 3rd one was good too so it would've been nice to see another.

I don't think a trade off like that would have been worth it. Chapters are more important than some color work, I'm sure this is what the mangaka would think anyway.

I think at this point it's pretty clear that Horikoshi just can't handle 19 pages a week anymore, whether it's because of some unknown health issue, or he's just can't keep up with the weekly workload.

Oh my... Apparently it is not something as unusual as I thought. Even so, the feeling of disappointment does not disappear from my heart... But still, we must understand Horikoshi-sensei. That poor man is having a Saitama syndrome right now.
