finally a chad mc with 191 IQ that all of us can relate to

Before the thread eventually closes when we crossed into 2019, I compiled a list of the PVs of the new manga in 2018 (I consider the 3 recent ones to be 2019 manga), which exclude bozebeat and Act-age simply because these were not a thing back then.

Since the Jump Rising campaign (lol remember these) WSJ had made new PVs for each of their new series, the first 3 PVs were made by Gyuudon and I guess these were popular enough that they haven't stop making them yet.

Some of these are really well made (especially the first 3) while most are standard PV, but they are better than most manga PV out there.

Finally got a chance to read Chainsawman, that sure was interesting, the artwork sure is nice to look at, and the transformation was also kinda cool, it gives me Soul Eater vibes (especially MC’s devil transformation which reminds me of Justin’s clown transformation)

I agree that Predicting if it will get an instant axe isnt possible, tho I gota admit the ending reminded me of Jujutsu and Amalgam’s first chapter’s endings as well “Either you die or come with us”

Guys stop judging manga from first chapter, maybe ne0,lation will have success and chainsawman will be dropped... I remember when there was a really promising Illegal rare, or Gakkou hyoutei or hungry joker, demon plan, st&rs, magico, UBS, Noah's note, samon-kun, tokyo wonder boys, stealth symphony... all of them have been dropped, while bad series had success (nisekoi, bokutachi ha benkyo dekinai, act-age, dr. stone ecc...) I can make many more examples

But Demon Plan, ST&RS, Tokyo Wonder Boys, Best BLue, and Stealth Symphony were all amazing.

Im 100% sure Gakkyu Hotei and Stealth Symphony were supposed to be short.

Oh yeah, Tokyo wonder boys, the most promising series since never. Just because you like or don't like a series doesn't mean they are bad. What's so bad about Act-age for example? That it's not an action or sports series?

this week oneshot was ok, very similar premise to Wold Trigger (group of soldiers defending earth from aliens)
the execution was different, this was very focused on comedy and the mc group are all weirdos and op
i liked the atmosphere so I would read it if they turn it into a series, could be Jumps answer to Edens Zero there's even a talking cat in it

Demons Plan and Tokyo Wonder Boys were among the worst ever to have been serialized. Right up there with Takamagahara.
I don't read these but I'm pretty sure the general reception for Nisekoi, Act-Age and Dr. Stone were incredibly higher than what those 2 ever got. Whether or not these 3 remained good is a different story.

Demons Plan was bad but not quite Takamagahara bad imo. Takamagahara resides in a forbidden realm inhabited by only it and Swot.

The only thing I remember about Demon Plan was kids with teenagers faces. It was so weird.
