I'm talking about whatever this is:
Yeah that’s the one. It’s super kiddy and crude, as you’d expect, but fun enough. I own volume 1. Very gross-out in its humour

(Also the author has a good twitter, IIRC)

Can't wait to have 3 gaps in the line-up after Saiyuuki ends!

Seriously though I really hope the next batch is announced next issue, I get that they don't want to have potentially 7 new flops running at once but I want to see what's next.

3 newbies round isn't going to happen because GFC has to start soon (last year it started in #39), so the oneshots place will be staying. Another 2 newbie round like Yui and Saiyuki it seems. Which seems optimal, considering the Yui-Taisei-Beast-TSS situation.

I don't mind if it's 3 or 2 or even just 1+ HxH, I just want to see new series. I hope they don't wait until after GFC to start anything new.

Pass on F-Ken. While I like that it is basically a parody of the common spokon trope "with hard work, you can do anything", it was just too random and bizarre while being over the top for me. It had a really great "awakening" moment at the end though (a bit ruined by that certain random panel for no reason). Huge problem for me is that the core concept never evolved into something concrete and was just left by the side to be a gag relief moment. Haven't laughed once though. Despite the obvious try to make the girl sympathetic, I just didn't like her or the male MC as well. There is a potential here if it was a bit reworked around, but for now no. It also had places where the pace could have been better.

Sorry Matsui, maybe next time.

Maybe we may get a single series round like with Hinomaru back then

I have a feeling HxH will return post GFC and when the axe drops on the remaining newbies left. It was back around that time last year too.

Hopefully HxH returns then. The problem though is that there still isn't any mention of volume 37 coming out and since the series came back for the Dark Continent arc the author's schedule has been publish 9 chapters, go on hiatus for a year, publish a new volume then come back to the magazine to publish another 9 chapters. Yet still no word on the newest volume and on the Shonen Jump site, we can even know scheduled releases for October already.
I guess there is a bit of hope though since it seems last year it was announced the series would be coming back like 3 weeks or a month before it was in the magazine again but still last time the break wasn't as long as it was this time.
Looking at some articles it seems this https://www.shonenjump.com/j/sp_hunter1809/was posted in early September and announced saying the series would come back later in the month while the volume would come out in early October. Fingers crossed it's going to be the same for this year but don't really believe in that.

Do you guys want me to keep the current poll up until a new series starts? I ask because, I have an idea for a new one, and I want to keep you guys engaged for the dead week.

No, switch them. The current one has stayed long enough imo.

Alright. I took a screenshot of all the voters in each category, so we can revisit it, if need be.

Some clarification about the poll, I made this volume 1 vs volume 1 because Sam8 is going to release it's first and second volume at the same time, and I'm pretty damn certain the first month combined for volume 1&2 will beat out SxF's first month volume sales.

If that tweet is to be believed, SxF did 300k in a month, so that's the bar Sam8's first volume has to clear.
Isn't it a little too early for this? We won't have an answer to that until the end of October.

Nah, because I'll just close it once I've felt there's enough votes, just like the previous one. Again, I'll screenshot the voters in each category, so we can discuss it when the actual results are in.

I wanted to do the poll now while SxF's success is fresh on everyone's mind.

New volume of HxH gets announced the same time as return announcement so that is nothing to worry about.

Also Togashi almost always releases 10 chapters(exactly one volume) before going on hiatus not 9. The only time he released 9 chapters was in 2014 and that was because he suddenly got sick and had to return to hiatus early

I feel as if using the Shoseki/Oricon numbers after 4 weeks would make for a better point of comparison, despite the official statement.

Either way, I’m betting on SxF.

The next poll could be about the most wanted author that will be back in october. Matsui, Shimabukuro, Shinohara, Aso, Kubo and so on.

Yeah it does feel a bit early for a Samurai 8 sales poll. Could've been one about how many new series will be in the next batch.

Like I said, I wanted to do this poll while SxF's success was fresh on everyone's mind. I'll probably only keep it up for a few days. But, that is a good idea for the next poll.

That's also a good idea. God, I'm gonna have to start making polls on what the next poll will be!

(Half joking there.)

Well, it can be perfectly true. I mean, of course it's not 300k copies sold, but still they were decided on its 22nd day after its release, which was 7/4, just at the same time both second and third reprint for SxF Volume 1 were decided, one scheduled for 8/8 and the later one for 8/21 iirc. I find it pretty amazing, to be honest, for a series in Jump+ to have three reprints decided in less than a month, even if not every copy is on sale right now since both later reprints still need to be delivered. I wonder what Samurai 8's performance will be when it comes to reprints and selling.

So well, if we want to talk about sales itself, we can determine SxF's most accurate number would be 104.136. If it comes to copies and reprints, we can talk about 300.000.
