just noticed that on Manga Plus Hitman Reborn and Captain Tsubasa are only in the Spanish version

hope they add them in English, Viz even have the license for Reborn so no reason not to add it

Seeing these six again feels weird. :o In a way I wish we'd have another one of these bigger serialization rounds even if this one kinda failed.
any serialization round that gives you 2 long lasting manga can't be that big of a failure

2 of those series are still running today. And one of them had a decent year long run.

I highly doubt Jump expected all 6 to be hits. I think they only expect 2 or 3 to come out success to begin with

oh, I see
hopefully things work out for the author, I didn't think Mutou Black was that bad

anyway....this weeks oneshot Maken Kajishi Handago was ok, generic battle shonen with generic power up but I liked the art, it reminded me of Memesis

thats wraps up the oneshots influx

Draconir (exorcists shit)
Earth Defense Force (aliens shit)
Rappa Rendan (piano shit)
Hakutei no Erica (horse shit)
Undead + Unluck (zombies shit)
Mondai no Ohi Ryouriten (gag and no cooking at all shit)
Gold Kid (SD shit)
Seigan no Yamato (kendo shit)
the 5 Valnetaine oneshots (testing out romcoms formula shits)
Fantasies (gangsters shit)
Maken Kajishi Handago (blacksmith shit)

can't wait until none of them get serialized and we keep getting more and more """original"" exorcists series
Geez, when you describe it like that, you make it sound worse than it actually is.
LOL to bad none of them dealt with bulls to have an even worse pun :derp
lol, I didn't even realize what I typed until you point it out
just to be clear, I meant it as "have to deal with", I don't think these oneshots were shit...well not all of them at least
Just for curiosity which were the ones you actually liked?

from the vets I liked Asou's oneshot, I still have my doubt about Tamura, Rappa Rendan worked as a oneshot but I could see the gags getting old and repetitive

from the noobs I liked Hakutei no Erica & I see potential in Seigan no Yamato it could fill out the combat sport gap that Hinomaru will leave behind

all the romcoms were only 2 pages long so there isn't much to discuss, surprised to see Saguri-chan mangaka already have something new in the work
and all I have to say about Yabuki oneshot is this emoji :eyeroll

I'm jealous that's so unfair if reborn is Spanish exclusive. I wanna read my 2nd most fave old jump series ever without excessive swearing that's unbecoming of kids. Please add this eng mangaplus.

How do people actually think Neo and Higuma are better than Chainsaw. For one thing the characters and their relationships of Neo and Higuma are literally the same shonen archetypes that have been cut and paste for decades. They're both pretty fun but I like U19 way more and that got the boot.

Meanwhile Chainsaw has subtle characters - we don't have people explaining all of their emotions. It's clear from Denji's years of abuse that his quest to touch boobs only serves to show how empty of a life he has been living, for example. And the interactions between characters feel very human, or at least not typical shonen fare.

The interactions feel very natural, like in Jujutsu Kaisen and Kimetsu. And while this isn't a Godly decree, the author does show not tell very well to show how Denji and Sasuke are at odds with each other for example.

Chainsaw has humanity, character, amazing direction and infinite potential due to the setup.

Theres is no potential. No ones motives are known, denji is litrally touching his goal next chapter. You're misreading if you see infinite potential.

Neo wants to clean up the corrupt town.that is infinite potential. Higuma wants to put away all demons that is infinite potential. Denji wants to touch a bewbiew... uhm what. Gross.

Did you not read what I wrote, or do you have no understanding of how to read literature and actually seeing beyond the surface level, or are you trolling again?

In real life and in more true to life fiction, characters don't have such a straightforward, I'll be king of the pirates motivation and that's fine. Just look at the masterpieces Gintama and 3-Gatsu. You telling me that because Gintoki doesn't want to become samurai king and Rei doesn't want to become Shogi-Hokage, they have no motivations and their series have no potential?

Meanwhile in Neo and Higuma the character depth so far is simply, fight bad guys. One is a trickster character and one is more chill and justice oriented but their motivation is to fight bad guys and protect the good people etc etc. That's literally it.

---

Also, the potential I referred to in Chainsaw is that the monsters and or enemies are somewhat surreal, and as such the writing can be more flexible, and the setting is not tied down to a modern city setting or a mythical Japan setting. Gives the author room to experiment. This kind of open setting is what is giving series such as Gintama, One Piece, and Black Clover room to grow while series like Boku no Hero are currently being bogged down but their restrictive settings.

I’ve been on this site for 3 years I still don’t understand how we take the bait
It's because his opinions are consistent enough that I'm only 70% sure he's trolling.

Also I baited the baiter in the first place, by shitting on Neo. I was bored at work.

Not sure if it's a mythical Japan or not but I did like how the author imply the world in Chainsawman is completely different by stating the Soviet Union still exists.

Small detail but it'll be interesting to see how it plays out.

Right. What I meant by mythical Japan was that all of the monsters were influenced by that kind of mythology in Higuma whereas in Chainsawman it is fair game to introduce tomato demons.

I think there is still more to Neo since he isn't willy nilly just taking down random do badders, like he could clearly take on more loan sharks but doesnt, and he was only interested in the lemmings thing because there was something more compelling there, remember he had to be swayed in the first place with his favorite meal, hot dogs.

Denji was initially compelling with the debt aspect as it resonated with people and seeing this lone kid who was being cheated at life try to make something of him self and get the basic necessities was vastly unique and interesting. Now that that was basically lifted thanks to be thrust a Daddy Long Legs in his life, he is honestly just aimless, he even admitted it himself this weak that he has no goal to strive for anymore.

I dont know how you can say that series has infinite potential yet Higuma doesnt, when they both are driven by the demon of the week in modern society. Higuma would have the edge on settings since Higuma can always have an underworld arc...oddly, Higuma can best be compared to everyones favorite spirit detective (rouge Hell Warden arc when).

His baits are juicy AF. He's smart enough to know how to bait people easily. Replying to his baits sometimes can be quite a big relief from real life stuff, which is why I do it at times.
