Didn't know Build King was that recent. And lol @ Viz's summary.

"Kugi Taurus is a house builder that owns a living house. A living house with attitude! And when two home thieves come to try and steal the house, all heck breaks loose!"

I mean, looking at Build King, it's pretty obvious that Shimabukuro's very old-fashioned in his writing sensibilities, from art to narrative to characters to humor (oh so much toilet humor). While that was kind of the "appeal" to Toriko, I'm not sure a modern audience would see it as well. More likely, I feel, they'd see it as just an attempt at a gimmick.

On further thought, I think Beast Children was doomed from the start. Rugby's player count of 15 people on field is simply unsustainable in a genre where a major appeal is being able to know who everyone on the team is and connect with them.

I agree completely. That's also why I think the arc that started last week, were Sakura is tasked to assemble a smaller team of seven, could be what saves the series. There's now a promise of more intimate character interaction, and I'm excited for it. Hopefully the WSJ readerbase feels the same way.

Seems like All Out doesn't exist right? Please, it has nothing to do with number of players, you have soccer mangas with 11 players in each team + substitutes, the same with american footbal and the list goes on, it's about the author not knowing how to deliver something that appeals the japanese readers.

We’re one step closer to Galaxy Gangs being a serialization

Meanwhile here I am waiting for Yuusaku Shibata to get off his ass and serialize Zippo :emocat
a true patrician

If anyone is interested, mangadex is picking up the new MHA spinoff

Ch.1: https://mangadex.org/chapter/669548/1
a tag team manga??? interesting concept
but adds to my confusion on why is this in Saikyuu?

just put this on Plus, shippers and fujos will definitely go crazy for this

If anything the chances of this is lower than Gintama coming back to main mag
why tho?
Gintama ended, Build King was never serialized

36•37
Cover: Main Characters
LCP: One Piece
CP: Chainsaw Man; Jujutsu Kaisen; F-ken (Oneshot/45p) by Matsui Yuusei
have Viz said anything about Murata's oneshot??
if they do we can pressure them into doing Matsui's oneshot too
and if they do that too, we can pressure them into doing GFC oneshots too

I don't really care about English versions since I don't read manga in English anyway, but it wouldbe nice having people in the community to talk to them about it

MHA Vol 24
I know people will love this, but I don't
it's too safe and on the nose for my taste

You realize I wasn't putting down Shimabukuro as a creator, right? I was saying his style is unappealing to a modern audience, not that it was necessarily a poor creator.

Ahhh the bait-ending arc of Yuuna. I like CSM's cover more than the earlier ones. Aaand goodbye Higuma, it was nice knowing you.
