This chapter of Kamio Yui basically confirmed the manga will continue which i'm happy about it, and the new girl "villain" looks stunning, straight from a Clamp manga.

Personally i really like the direction of the manga, going for a mix of comedy + battle shounen with horror elements, knowing Shiibashi this was the plan from the beginning but he had to speed things because the bad rankings, and is important to notice that the rankings are still not reflecting the "sudden" changes in the manga, horror stuff and NuraMago characters, so i'm curious to see if it will make the manga rise or no.

Well mangakas dont get to see their ranking or anything like that. It's up to intuition and tips what the editors tells them, only when their manga is confirmed to end they get to know.
So are mangaka forbidden from purchasing a WSJ issue and looking at the ToC?

Ehhh i don't know from where you came up with that because the authors know very well how their mangas are being received by the readers, in fact you can totally see that when a failing manga suddenly introduce a new character to spice things, crazy twists starts to happen or even fanservice being added.

Do you think they're just blindly doing things and the editors just suddenly says "your manga was cancelled"? not to mention they can just buy the magazine and see the ToC lol

It was the most drastic change since Reborn, I think the aitor even changed the protagonism of manga to kiito instead of being the kamio yui who is the title character of the manga.

It is not possible that the guys do not know the situation of their manga, for example the artist is tokyo shinobu squad is always on twitter. So they should know even if they don't buy the jump.

Yes I read it in an interview, I forgot which is was. It's so that an mangaka dont stress out from work, it will give an huge impact on their writing/drawing skills and thus the quality may drop.

Twitter isnt an important source that effect an mangaka serialization, especially for an newcomer. Japanese people arent like us western that relying on social media, they have a poll where they vote for their fav manga every week, and the master behind the toc also decide it based on readership (aka votes how an manga perform

So you have 100% knowledge how their work regimen work?. Yes duhh they can buy their toc magazine but than again, IT CAN EFFECT THEIR WORK, no mangaka gonna make them self stress out like that, they making art for themself not some economic paper work the editor helps them what's wrong in the procces. an editor Never goes to an mangaka and say every week: this how low or high you are in the ranking, work harder.

If their manga will get cancelled, they will hear it like 5 chapters before.

You know how much stress it can put them?.

Pff I swear if I had the source back, you wouldnt comment this easy about being an mangaka

While Bakuman isn't 100% accurate making up something like the editor telling them exactly what rank they are each week and even having an arc based around gaming the voting system to improve their ranking seems a little weird if they really have 0 idea how their series is doing.

No, no one here have 100% knowledge about how the behind the scenes work, but you're saying stuff that are not true, authors are not forbidden of buying or reading Shonen Jump, something like this doesn't exist, and i'm not saying that the editors keep bothering the authors each chapter saying that "this chapter got last place, so it was hated, change this shit", but overall they know how their mangas are doing, they're not working blindly without knowing if their work are being well or bad received, this is one of the editors work too, and like i said, you can totally see how they're aware of it with the typical developments with failing mangas

I mean, most of the JP readerbase is convinced at this point that Taisei and Beast are already dead because of the GIGA preview. Who knows what is going on?

The only thing this week's chapter of Double Taisei was missing was the childhood friend. That bondage dude Haga is literally more insane every time they show him. His over-the-top design really makes me laugh. Yui Kamio's chapter seemed to confirm that it at least has another full arc's worth of chapters left, so if anything gets axed alongside Saiyuki, it'll probably be one of the three newbies.

Bit of a random question, but does Samurai 8 get any easier to read after the third chapter, as in does it get easier to differentiate the background artwork from the characters in the foreground? Not sure if it's just because my vision isn't stellar, but I felt like I really had to pay abnormally close attention to everything to see where characters ended and background structures began. It was almost like a giant coloring book image if that makes any sense. Never really had that issue with any other series before

Bro I'm not saying they work blindly, paying attention every min what fans say isnt their work ethic. Yes they can know what fans say here and there but that isnt their main factor. Story board discussing, Japanese fans voting for this fav manga, director of toc deciding the ranking. but checking everytime how fans on Twitter say or toc.. no, that's why mangakas are so happy seeing letters from fans they dont have time for other things. You can have oda scrolling through Twitter and it wont effect him, but an mangaka like beast children now can effect it. I'm saying how the process in jump work from the Jump interview. Japanese culture is different from us

It has gotten easier, but that's mostly because Kishi has set everything in wide-open plains, sparsely detailed white rooms, or space. It's no longer "difficult to read" (mostly), but the result is that the setting feels kinda empty.

You're just saying what i said in my comment but in a different way, you literally replied Buranchi confirming that authors are forbidden of buying Shonen Jump or looking the ToC, and saying that they don't know how their work are being received, this is what i was replying.

Everybody knows that isn't something good for a newbie to bother so much about rankings and stuff, but it's just impossible to them not be aware of how their works are being received, they don't work all these months without knowing anything and the editor just come up and say "your manga is cancelled", if the manga isn't being well received they will know, from the editor or just looking at the ToC.

Considering Ashihara mentioned before that World Trigger actually had the #1 rank in votes a few times despite not being #1 in the ToC, I'd wager the mangaka know the exact rank of each chapter (or at least will get told the rank by their editor if they want to know).
