From what I've been told by friends and observed through net-surfing, it seems Samurai 8 has developed a very negative reputation online (pretty much all of the tweets I've read from a namesearch mention it being unpopular). Think how Black Clover was received in the ENG community for a good while and you have the same idea.
Naaah, this is laughably wrong. Actually, from what I've been told by friends and observed through net-surfing, it seems Samurai 8 has developed a good reputation online (and worldwide). For example Italy loves it.

Furthermore Act-Age, Haikyuu, Chainsawman and even JJ was at the bottom in several ToC. But they are all fine, am I wrong? Ehehe. And look at the new WSJ Cover and look where Samurai 8 is. Let alone that Samurai 8 still need to release his 1st volume.

Oh yes, Black Clover was voted as the "worst manga of the year" according to Comic Con. Look at it now.

They are not going to axe Samurai 8 any time soon. The worst case I see for it is Robot x Laserbeam like end after 1 year of serialization or something. And for that, Kishimoto would really have to fail to not attract people who read the magazine in that time.
We had many examples in the past like Gun Blaze West and Jumbor being axed.
I'm not saying that is going to be axed, and it can be a hit, but thinking that "they are not going to axe samurai 8" only because is written by Kishi don't answer the my post about "if the downward trend continue it can have problems".

Being a well known author in Jump don't get you a free pass.

For once, both examples you mentioned were 18 years and 12 years ago.
And second, are you seriously saying Rurouni Kenshin and Shaman King (both left impact and were hits, correct, but still) are on the same level as the third best selling shonen manga in the history (will be overtaken by Meitantei Conan in the future for the 4th but still counts), the starter of a huge cash cow in God knows how many branches of media globally?

An early axe for Samurai 8 is never going to happen. Period.

Samurai 8 getting CPs in chapter 7, 9 & 12 (lead) for good reception, etc. Then gets low placement for ch13 and:
- Rain: I told you guys, the manga failed and it's getting cancelled

Also he read all the twitter and didn't find positive things about it. Because we all know, all manga fans are only on twitter.

Seriously though, all newbies (except Samurai 8) are practically dead, but nothing is ending at the moment and some will continue more than normally a failed series do. Really weird situation and lots of luck for said series. No U19 club for them :D

Tbh Kenshin was like the 4th or 5th most sold Jump manga in history when Gun West Blaze got the axe

Or for all we know, Samurai 8 being put towards the back of the magazine for a week might be their attempt at forcing people to actually look at the back of the magazine and hopefully pick up on one of the dying newbies.
This theory makes sense actually.

I think Jump as of recent is also trying to judge if a series has a pulse in sales. Though there is a low chance of a "low TOC-decent sales", unless it doesn't come from a popular veteran (Hungry Marie, Illegal Rare) or it had early positive reception before getting axed (Double Arts, Pajama na Kanojo, Koisome Momiji). The last time it happened was Cross Account in 2016, with AKABOSHI in 2009 and Kiben Gakuha in 2010 (though to be fair, 2009 and 2010 was a long time ago).

Tbh Kenshin was like the 4th or 5th most sold Jump manga in history when Gun West Blaze got the axe
That I don't know (nor I am sure how to check). But Naruto left much more impact globally and probably earned a LOT more money for Shueisha when before Gun West and Samurai 8 started, respectively.

Also I am 100 percent sure Gun West would have lived much longer today than back then. HUNGRY MARIE lived for 30+ chapters!

Why we can't compare Kenshin with Naruto?
We were here years laughting at GIA obsesion with veteran being instant-hit but now because the veteran is Kishimoto we change the narrative to "is kishimoto guys, it will not be axed early".

And the funny thing is that I didn't say that it's going to be axed, I said that a downward trend of a series is something to be worried about if it continue.

People still believe the "cp for good reception" thing?

It can be popular , but saying "is popular because it got CP for good reception" ...

Looking at Samurai 8 impressions online, the complaint that often comes back is that the drawings are hard to understand, that the manga is hard to read.

I mean, you threw early axed Jumbor and Gun West as examples (and to repeat Hungry Marie lasted for 33 chapters, and Beelzebub left less impact than Shaman or Kenshin).

Also chapter 2, without counting the 1st one due to obvious reasons.

I guess Rain has only searched the negative tweets, because even now with a quick Twitter-search I can find a lot of good tweets and comments and stuff like that.
Unless he just looked at the tweets of Yuma the spammer, with his post-traumatic rants (but actually funny...I mean, perfect for a good random laugh if you are bored). Then I can understand why Rain wrongly said that statement...for the records, don't read that rants unless you wanna laugh, of course. Sorry, I'll say in a different way: "don't take his sick rants seriously", that's better.

Again...Act-Age, JJ, Chainsawman, MHA, Black Clover, Haikyuu etc. got their bottom ToC (which is not even a popularity rank btw). Samurai 8 is in danger for one single ToC? Nope. Long answer: ahahaha nope.
What about the other Samurai 8 ToCs then? Eh. :noworry

That was fixed recently.

still thinking Tokyo Shinobi Squad is just being placed there to draw eyes to the end of the magazine. The art and writing is way too good to be something that has no fans.

I "threw" precedents of popular author which the second series were a failure. Jump doesn't care about your name, it care about money.
And you are talking that times change, and now is more easy to "veteran" to doesn't be axed in Jump early, which I think is an incorrect affirmation

Also , "x is popular than y ,so y's new series is going to be more popular/last more" is a bad argument.
It all depend of the trend of the series and how is the magazine, Hungry Marie was in the 6 serialization round and when he began to rank , it started another serialization round(the shudan's one).
It was lucky to have 30 chapters.

OK - congrats guys on that sterling detective work.

Now that we've established that Rain Spectre and Yuma Arclight are the same person, we should not be surprised that they both share the same opinions.

How about we now stop trying to unsubtly insult Yuma posts, pretending that we aren't targetting Rain?

I mean, it might be difficult, but it is possible to target another user's opinions without personal insults.

Isn't rain a child , tho?
I mean, if you are 24/7 trying to explain Rain that you and your internet friends are better him, maybe you're not.
Is better to ignore him.

Ignoring opinions you disagree with is fine.
If you think a post is insulting/off-topic/offends you in some way/etc. please report it - please don't call people sociopaths, clowns, or spammers. It's just unhelpful and will lead to them posting shit back.

I have no idea of the age of Rain, nor of anyone else here - it's information I really don't care about.
All I care about is that people try to at least act with a modicum of respect to other users.

I'd rather not waste my time posting things like this, or your time reading it, so it'll be the last comment I'm gonna make on this.

peace and love guys

♥
