I find it funny how looking back, U19 seems more amusing than at least 5 series running in the magazine right now. This doesn't feel right...
What, are you one of those people who complain about "Jump not being funny anymore"?

Is there a possibility that kamio yui and TSS will be transferred to jump+ ?

sure but why? If they wanted room in the magazine they'd just ax the bottom performers since there's a lot of those right now.
I asked just out of curiosity.

It's not like the current batch is any better. Jump is just not as ruthless as they were one year ago. Maybe they can't afford to axe new manga left and right any more, due to many established series ending?
It's only been 19 weeks since Neolation joined.

But yeah, it's a bit sour, isn't it? Knowing that series like Higuma, Noah's Notes and Double Arts got cancelled, and then suddenly having a magazine where almost half of the titles are worse than any of those?

Neolation has exactly 19 chapters, so it barely escaped the U19 club. People were joking that Jump was aware of the meme.

Ooh. I thought U19 also had 19 chapters, but I guess the one-shots don't count.

This author I swear

There's almost like a consistent theme to the mangaka's characters in the author comments. Gotouge is goofy af, Horikoshi is a big nerd, Tabata is an overworked family man, Gege is mega random...

Nothing in current Jump is worse than Noah's Notes.

Everyone, today is my 33rd birthday.

For that reason, I'd like to know what everyone's favorite WSJ series was from 33 years ago. Anything that was running in Jump at the time qualifies.
belated happy birthday
Captain Tsubasa is my favorite from back then I guess

Do you think Kimetsu once s2 comes will surpass MHA on a per volume basis (in 1 month)?
well, it has a chance if the manga is still running by then

For those who read Devily-man, did Taisei's author repeat the same mistakes? Lack of planning/focus?
he didn't learn shit
he even re-used the same story from Devilyman where the mc saved a girl from the pervert taking pic of her panty

Devily-man was a gag manga
no it wasn't

Golden Future Cup is really dead right? it should be happening right now, in the last 3 years it happened from #39 or 40 to #44, they will even publish a one shot next issue. Not really a big surprise seeing how none of the winners since Beelzebub survived but i will kinda miss the competition.
there are 4 former GFC winners in the magazine currently

Shiibashi (Nura)
Tabata (Hungry Joker)
Gondaira (Toteku)
Matsuura (Hono Mieru Shonen)

if you count participants then Gotouge (Rokkotsu-san) and Akutami (Barabarujura) got their start from there too
it's a nice way to give the magazine new blood, so i can't see them ending it, even if the rookies original oneshot doesn't work keeping them around won't hurt them in the long run

Boichi keeps drawing the sex dolls lips and TMS keep deleting them in the anime, he doesn't get the hint does he

Wait, I thought Devily-Man was a gag manga? What was it actually?

Also, I find that slightly mis-representative, if just because half of those current winners are failing (though Shiibashi is one of two who succeeded when he actually got serialized). Maybe it's a good way of introducing new authors who can be potential talents, but just running one-shots in the magazine seems like a safer bet IMO.

They need to be pairing mangaka with writers more frequently than they are, IMO.

a creepy evil kid that does anything or money
it's more like Neuro & Muhyo to Roji
a supernatural detective manga with partners, one is an abusive asshole and the other is his punching bag

I said this before, they need a harsher quality filter
sure, pairing up writers and artists seems to be their way around keeping the art level high
but then there are cases like Ne0lation where the beautiful art is just wasted on a below average story

That could work for a short time, but after the series is finished, either:
1) Continue to work with the writer, becoming dependent to him
2) Separated their ways and you need to be Obata levels to return to the magazine.
3) Go solo, but he didn't learn nothing about writing so it will be shit.

Like Mammo say, is better to be harsher in term of storytelling of the newbies.

Wow, I had no idea Rising Impact was actually ended/axed after 15 chapters in early 1999, and then was rebooted with a second serialization that also restarted the numbering back to Chapter 1 some months later, which worked so well it actually got a 2nd cover on Chapter 10. A very interesting case.

not everything that ends after a short run is axed

we already talked about this the other day with case of Hareluya

maybe they were experimenting with things we don't know

I think Jump in the older days was more willing and open to actually reboot manga newbies serialization wise (also happened to Outer Zone). You wont see that nowadays in the magazine.

Maybe? I haven't checked out the chapter itself yet, but I guess we'll see more going forward.
