Is it possible you missed some? Because I saw 7 people vote before this update, but the count went from 35 to 39...

The start of the final arc of one of the biggest seller and most acclaimed manga of the decade VS the start of a 9 chapters spinoff of a manga that doesnt even reach 100k in the top 50.

Are you really sure about what is more special or impactful for Jump?
You know, regardless the popularity, it has more sense to give a Cover/LCP for a spin-off than the announcement of a final arc.

I mean, the editorial would promote the spin-off, since they want this to sell.

In change, the announcement of a final arc won't really affect the magazine (the final will affect the magazine, but there is still a good amount of time for that).

We just had a different sports series end that had skipped ahead a few years to do a whole part 2. Would be odd if that somehow became the norm for wsj sports series.
Isn't that kind of a norm already? They just tend to do it in different platforms XD.

Doesn't this look pretty bad? If the trend continues then next volume will sell at pre-anime level.

Wouldn't say next volume. I'd give it 3 volumes.

Yes, it was announced at it's Super Stage at last year's Jump Festa and is scheduled for Spring 2020

Ryouma! Rebirth Movie The Prince of Tennis
Well, POT is like Kuroko No Basket with how unrealistic it can be when it tries. But I guess that's also what makes it approachable to so many. Maybe they are trying to see if it still has a market.
The New POT manga has been declining in sales since a while, if I'm not mistaken.

Looks like there's no axes in this week's issue!

Here's what I'm predicting for the next batch:

#49: No axes
#50: Double Taisei concludes
#51: Beast Children concludes
#51-52: Batch of 2 manga debuts

Q1 2020: At least three manga conclusions between TPN, WNL, Yui Kamio, and TSS. New batch that includes the magic school series.

This is pretty specific so I wouldn't be surprised if I got something wrong. For example, since the Dr. Stone spinoff is technically a series debut, I could see the next batch proper not starting until 2020 #1. Either way, I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what happens next.

I am curious to see how Taisei/Beast develop (in any case even if Yui and TSS go too, they are going to end the last so we won't have any signs).
For the record, Beast Children is wrapping up the final minute of the match (that is already going on for 10 chapters) with the main rival, so expect that one to go soon.

Jesus, what the hell? Damn. That sounds like it’s being extended past it’s expiration date already. Perhaps the rugby tournament was helping it all along and it still wasn’t enough.

It also has to be mentioned that Stone Reboot has 8 more issues to go, so something has to take it's place too.

Reboot will end in late December. Assuming we get a new batch in late November, that might be too soon for yet another batch.

Since Stone Reboot is technically filling the spot that's been reserved for one-shots most of the year, I'm guessing that there'll just be more one-shots and/or special chapters immediately after Reboot ends. And then either that slot gets filled in the following batch, or HxH will fill that slot for 10 chapters by returning from hiatus.

I'm still interested in this new politics of rotation for one series to get a 1-week break. Can't wait for issue 51 since in theory both OP and MHA would be there, and we can see if there other manga is going to rest or if there won't be any breaks.

Also, with this politics of rotation you get 1 more slot, don't you?

I'm guessing that the "break slot" is consistently going to be filled with one-shots, special chapters, and other one-time things as opposed to a full series. That way WSJ doesn't overload the magazine on weeks that nobody needs a break.
