2020 Prediction is hard to tell solely because we dont know much longer KnY will last. OP can get a sudden boost outta nowhere and mow down the competition. Or if Kingdom's anime is coming next year and if it experiences growth similar to Kimetsu or even just an average growth of 1.5x to 2x, it can topple everyone.
So it really depends and it's too early to tell.

EVERYONE interested in WSJ ranking and sales follows this thread. I bet a ton of anons, redditors, and Twitters user are lurking at this very moment, waiting for any (mis)information to drop then repost them on their respective platforms. Just see the current number of users and guests.
All the more why spreading reliable information (with sources) on this thread is important. Not the opinions of anyone or any random twitter account or YouTuber.

I think KnY will be 2nd in the first half 2020. But in year I can see it in top 5. It will depend how it will perform from now on starting on February. Also, the movie is coming and who knows if they will announce the 2nd season after the movie release.

I can definitely see them teasing a season 2 at the end of the movie or announcing it. Demon Train arc is peak material and fujos will love it so it could get another boost.

Lol I think RDL has more of it than Demon train. Since it's Zenitsu envying Uzui and the main boys crossdressing

I remember so many fanart spawning from that panel where Tanjirou was resting his head on Rengoku. Demon Train really started it and RDL does have those moments.

Season 2 will likely cover both Demon Train/RDL so it will be peak fujo material regardless lol

Jujutsu Kaisen Viz translator is doing Zipman

It's in good hands then. Jujutsu translator is very passionate and regularly communicates to English readers.

Oh boy I'm getting kinda anxious with this, I really want Shibata to make since I do believe he has a lot of potential but I dint wanna get my hopes so high since it can either ways, gonna keep my expectations as moderate as possible
On a side note, congrats to Kimetsu no Yaiba, now thats a feat admirable for a series that managed to make it big little by little RDL arc is sure gonna bring in more fujo fans AND polygamy fans for sure once it gets animated lmao

2020 Prediction is hard to tell solely because we dont know much longer KnY will last.
KnY volumes usually cover 9 chapters.
Vol. 17 covered up to Chapter 151.
Vol. 18 will cover Chapter 152 to 160
Vol. 19 from 161 to 169
Vol. 20 from 170 to 178
Vol. 21 from 179 to 187
There are currently 184 chapters released. Unless KnY can end in 3 chapters, it will at least last up to Vol. 22.
If KnY in 2020 follows the same pattern as it did in 2018, then the volumes will release as follow: 18 in December, 19 in March, 20 in June, 21 in August and 22 in November.
5 volumes at ~1m units sold per volume + 1m sold this week. We are already at 6m. Depending on how long the boost will last, beating One Piece a second year in a row isn't unthinkable, even if OP releases 4 volumes

Incidentally, we got a bit more of Zipman's premise:

Interesting...
yeaaaah that is not helping my dejavu sensation at all, on the other hand Bakugo as the protagonist of MHA would be fascinating

Lol people really forget they did Toriko. I dont blame them b/c I want to forget it too. Its weird that in general Toei has a perception of doing kiddy titles (which is true to an extent) but they've adapted some of the more violent titles in WSJ (Toriko, Hokuto no Ken, Kinnikuman, etc.).

Never said it was going to be easy
Yes, I was thinking of Toriko when I said that. Toriko is a series that they picked in the beginning of the 2010s.

Interesting...
So MHA 2. I hope it's good.

Btw, anyone know how many manga those two new authors had on Jump? Since they only have 3 chances until getting a success from what I remember.

I only remember their previous manga from years ago but nothing more.

Each had only one serialization in Jump (Yoakemono and Kurokuroku).

Second try for both. It's been just one-shots and minis in GIGA and Jump+ for both.

Translating an Oricon article Buranchi linked me to. I make no claims about it being 100% because the term they seem to use for "single volume" throws me the heck off. Doesn't help that it's apparently also the word for a type of electrical transformer, so Google was no help. Anyway:

IT'S THE END OF YEAR RANKING, AND ONE PIECE HAS THE TOP SINGLE VOLUME FOR THE 12TH YEAR IN A ROW, AND THE TOP 3 SINGLE VOLUMES FOR THE 11TH YEAR IN A ROW

Oricon Comics' 2019 Yearly Ranking's Best Volume, is the 1st ranked for the first half of the year One Piece #91, with 2.388 milion copies purchased. With this, the series has lead the ranking since 2008, 12 straight years, adding to its record of unbroken #1s.

In addition, 2nd ranked is #93 (2.2 million), 3rd is #92 (2.113 million), 4th is #94 (1.88 million). This makes 11 years in a row, since 2009, that it has earned all of the top 3 spots and the 9th time overall that it has earned all of the top 4.

The artist, Eiichirou Oda, posted the following comment: "Lately, various people have been telling me 'Jump's gotten pretty exciting'. Along with the obvious excitement for Demon Slayer, Jump has been entrusting more and more passion to its young artists!! And, of course, also to me!! I'm delighted to be able to take this on. Thank you for the 1st Ranked Best Volume!! I am honored!!"

[snipping a bit about what OP is about and the anime]

Within the remaining top 10, Attack on Titan #27-29 take the 5th-7th spot, and #17 and #16 of Demon Slayer, which began airing an anime adaptation in April, got 8th and 9th place, the first from that series to enter the top 10.
