Moderator Notice:
Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

Rain? You mean, the lightening symbol?
I mean, a version of Dumbledore is there in the cover so that symbol was probably less important. But yeah, its very clear where the design inspirations came from for this manga and I don't even think the mangaka is even bothering to hide it.

Probably trying to gain HP fans that way.
Which raises a valid question...why is Komoto making a Harry Potter parody/spoof so far removed from when the series was running? Even ignoring the tainted reception of J.K. Rowling and the franchise, it just seems like a rather dated subject for a gag manga to be built on, regardless of the books fame.

Hey I'm a lurker and I would like to be included in the votes. I always vote for Chainsaw and Samurai 8 because I am only reading "newer" series and those two are my favorites from the mangas I read weekly. I also vote for miitama a lot because it makes me laugh. (Hi everyone :))

Yeah...I noticed that I didn't have to worry about not being included xD

He's usually right almost all the time so this doesnt really come as a surprise, I dont know why some people on here were acting as if he was completely untrustworthy and has no sources
There's a difference between doubting information as long as there's no actual confirmation or definite proof and just trusting whatever anyone says on social media taking it immediately as news.

You're from 2011, i don't think you need to worry about it kkkkk, this things will be decided but it's probably more focused on very new accounts with zero posts made.

You'd be more than safe. I agree that 6 month old accounts with 100 posts seems like a good enough qualifier.

Unless you guys disagree?
I think the post number count is enough, honestly. Pretty sure there has to be someone earlier than 6 months that is actually contibuting to the forum.

Most people were doubting him here simply over the fact he messed up on the news for OPM/DBS. I agree not to take everything he says as confirmation/news but he is most of the time correct with his leaks which makes him credible enough.

I don't know. I'm undecided on this. I can perhaps lower the age restriction, since 6 months might be too high. Completely removing it seems too lax, though.

Its fine to be skeptical since he isn't an official source not to mention he has been wrong in the past. Point I was making was that some users were saying he has no sources, he inst reliable etc when that clearly isnt the case considering he's been right more times than wrong, especially in the last few months

My opinion as someone who not even meet the criteria is that the standard sounds good enough :emobirb. I should post more but when my opinion tends to align exactly with some users I feel that leaving a like on their post is enough.

Like i commented with Buranchi, i think that 6 months and 100 posts is too much, it would possibly exclude a lot of voters and have some negative impact in other minor series since isn't only OP or CSM that are getting votes for the "lurkers", its all mangas, not saying that everybody should be allowed with just making a account today, but it should be more flexible, if not it can possibly turn into a elitist lists were will be just the same mangas being most voted every week (it already happens tbh) by the same members, not so much diversity of taste.

Maybe just include 3/2 months, no necessity of posts (Ottes above is a example), i don't see much problem in wanting to just vote in the poll, there are some users that just don't have the time or feel the necessity of talking like crazy in the forum/thread, and i think they shouldn't be excluded of voting.

Potter is a canonized "classic" now. It's reached a legacy where references to it are pretty timeless. Like an Oz, Star Wars, Wonka etc.

Also, the author being a transphobe has hardly tainted the legacy of the series. Unfortunately most people don't know about or don't give a shit about the things she's said. Twitter cancel culture is not real life.

Also, if you aren't invested in this thread then frankly I don't see why we care about your opinions.
This is a poll to gauge the consensus of the thread regulars. Not just any old random.

I am only 4 months old in the forum so I wouldn't be able to vote for example. I think 100 posts is a bit too much, maybe 50 is a more reasonable number and I would lessen the number of months to 2 or even get rid of it and only keep the number of posts.

How about 1 month, 50 posts?

That seems like a decent compromise.

I understand wanting diversity in taste, but no, this is too lenient. I don't think it's too much to ask that you actively participate in the community if you're wanting to participate in the polls.

Like, I get what you're saying about elitism, but Rica is right that the poll *was* created to represent the tastes of the regulars. You're basically arguing for forced randomness, and at that point, why not just use a random number generator and decide who wins that way?

Besides, there definitely is varied tastes being shown, maybe not at the very top, but the other positions DO fluctuate.

The poll isn't about the taste of the thread, but the forum, if you're a user of the forum and read Weekly Shonen Jump mangas you should be able to vote for it without having to to be a "regular" of this thread or have to be obligated to make X number of comments just to be considered as "valuable" for the thread, A user that have 51 comments and years of the forum but don't make a single comment anymore is able to vote (which i have 0 problems with) but someone that have under that and actually comment in the thread from time to time is suddenly not considered "worth" to vote, thats my problem, but you do what you do.

I'd say if they're active on the forum outside of the thread that's fine. At least they reflect the userbase of the site
The issue is people who have registered simply to take part in the poll, which isn't very fair because then it isn't serving the purpose of it gauging the taste of the forum.

I can't even begin to understand why someone would lose their time to create a fake account just to vote on their favourites... I'm impressed by how people can be this weird.

As Buranchi and Rica said, I think the poll is interesting to know what people who post here would vote on Jump's form, and not anybody. I don't even comment a lot, but I'm okay with the filtering.

Look at the amount of lurkers sometime.
This is a very popular thread because a lot of times English information gets posted here before anywhere else (or at least used to). I think it's weird too, but kind of understandable.
I don't think it's fair for these people to take advantage of our poll though.
