I was running around laughing really hard when I ran into one of my assistants. It was so embarrassing. Thank goodness I was wearing a flu mask.
Meetings with editors can be done through phone/video calls and I think it is possible for you and your assistants to be different countries and will still be able to work on the manga
Pretty much. The mangakas can continue working as usual, assuming the editors lock them in. .......Not that I'm advocating inhumane labor, of course.
The only problem is the rest of the editorial department or their office workers. The only solution for them right now is to go full digital at the moment and either hand out the issues for free or offer special prices during these tight times.
The issues that could cause the manga industry to be put in pause would probably be the office workers and people who actually work in Jump’s offices interacting with each other to make sure the magazine hits the shelves. Not the mangaka themselves
I'm sorry but I don't see extending 12 pages into an entire episode as "elevating the source material". That's something only a diehard fan who also follows the manga religiously could say, imagine being an anime-only and having to endure this crap of worthless screentime because toei is getting too close to the source material. 25 minutes of HALF A chapter that is literally based on nothing is not good and it's most certainly not "better than a good paced seasonal anime episode".
I'm disagree that a lot of Anime-only didn't enjoy the anime because it's quite opposite based to those blind reactors such as Uzumaki Khan, Supermechafrieza and Hibou etc. are purely anime-onlys. Bigger names of anime cult such as Nux taku, Lost pause etc. are also praised the One piece Anime too and i think you are out of date in this new decade that the One piece anime are getting bigger than before and it will continue to grow regardless of a quality.
I'm giving you about the fundamental of Storyboard on why you mentioned the "worthless screentime" is a weak argument. I mentioned everything the negative aspect of slow pacing but you gave me like a someone from a "10 year old ago complainant about the Enies lobby arc in anime are starting to degenerate the quality over again" This kind of criticism is too old and i expected nothing came from the Manga elitist so i can't counter your argument because it is different medium.
You need to get out the shelter and see for yourself, It's not about i'm fanboying the anime because i spoke too the negative thing of anime but TOEI changed their game in this new decade despite the Sheushia and Fuji TV are still dictate the slow pacing of one piece anime and this is not TOEI's fault.
I just don't get it on everyone's head on what matters to you are the PACING over again and nothing else then ignoring all of the professional aspect of adaptation, animation and so on. I just gave up this kind of debate and it's like i listened to a Boomer ranters that my time is better than yours and it's hard to comprehend everything to this type of person.

What do you mean based on nothing? It's because you don't like the added stuff that wasn't in the manga? Like i said those negative aspect of slow pacing are now gone since in the Dressrossa days. Wano arc in anime is the biggest middle finger to a good paced seasonal anime episode and they elevate everything better in just few pages.
What matters is the creativity of adaptation not based on the number of chapters to create a good pacing. If you put an incompetent staff and he adapt 2-3 chapters from a manga, do you think the episode can elevate better in the manga? of course not because he is incompetent and he will deliver a mediocre episode that's it.
We expose that not every Seasonal anime are always superior of adaptations and it's unfair to compare to Weekly anime that it can occasionally adapt better than those seasonal anime does. Like i said STAFF MATTERS!!!

But even then, they can still release the issues as is. Only this time, they have to go full digital and completely forgo physical issues. If they still want to keep the business running, this is pretty much the only option they can fall back on. While they're at it, they might as well put up a few issues online for free or tag a special price.

I agree that the manga industry should have no issues going forward digitally. I was just responding to the ppl saying that the virus shouldn’t be an issue because most manga artist work from home and can just call editors
Top4 getting over 10k, 20k and 30k, nice. Though ofc since it was an online poll with multiple votes you have to like take a 10k or more of some of the character. Especially Chiyoko surely had fans who went all out with 14 votes on her.^^
Let's wait for a poll where you have to send in a postcard then we see who's ready to pay for their fav.
Chiyoko's agency cheated the poll, no way they could allow a newbie like Kei to overtake their star actress. xD
The Covers are looking good. I hope the Corona-virus does not affect the sales too badly next month.
Mitama's situation is so uncertain it makes me nervous, since it's one of my current favourites in the magazine. Is it going to be axed as it doesn't sell enough or it's going to be safe because it gets decent TOC positions?

It'll stick around at least until there's another couple gag manga hits if it can keep doing okay on the ToC, rankings and consistency are more important than sales for WSJ (especially for genres they want more of, like gag manga right now). Hence Samurai 8 getting cancelled despite still selling better than every newer manga, because it got very few votes and sales were dropping.
If it keeps getting placed low on the ToC like the past few issues though, you should start worrying (although it should be fine for another few months at least due to the fan ghost contest, unless it drops to dead last every issue).

They are giving color pages to Mitama and sometimes he is in better positions than Yozakura.
it could be that they wanted to force people in Japan to like the manga, just like Kimetsu did in the beginning.

10th x3, 9th, 8th, 6th, 3rd, 7th, 3rd, 8th, 4th, 3rd,6th, 6th, 11th, 7th, 10th, 8th, 7th, 11th, 10th, 5th, 10, 5th. These are its ranking up to the drum house arc. Some dips here and there but overall those aren't bad rankings, at all.
Its rankings had already been fantastic for a while even prior to the anime, its average was barely outside top 5 in 2017 and top 3 in 2018.
