Moderator Notice:
Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

Good to see Jaminisbox bow out but Shueisha should drop the hammer on them anyways for continuing to scan Young Jump series. True fans support the mangaka.
I mean.... you can still read scans and support the mangaka at the same time by buying the volumes, not to mention Kaguya-sama doesnt even have an official weekly release in english so how else would people read the series?

Sales data shows that an infinitesimal small amount of people read scans and purchase the volumes.

Shouldn't we go back to the stone age too? no one can read scans, only buying the volumes that are like a year behind the japanese version? What's your problem? lol

Anyway, I might as well reveal the plans that we were working on behind the scenes since this latest development just indefinitely postponed it from ever happening.

On discord, I was approached by a former jaiminisbox staff member that got me in touch with the admin of JB. They wanted to do a weekly collaboration vote with our MH polls, where our votes would be more valuable than the votes on JB, since their traffic vastly outnumbers ours.

The idea was to add our votes for variety's sake, so every week wasn't just constantly One Piece/BC/MHA winning out every time. They wanted to publicly state that they're adding our votes and that they're more valuable, for transparency.

This of course needed MH admin approval, which was likely to happen before all this happened. So yeah, that was the plan. I'm sorry it fell through.

It was going to be on their site. Anyway, MH is less likely to bandwagon vote, as our users tend to actually vote for the best that week, instead of just voting for the most popular every time.

The scale of the MH poll was going to vastly grow, and our site traffic would have increased as well. But alas, it wasn't meant to be.

That doesn't change the fact that there's no way for anyone to read the series officially in english every week, I doubt anyone wants to wait every other month or 2 for a VIZ volume that released in Japan over a year ago. Not to mention some series aren't licensed in english anyway, so then there would be no way to read certain series without scans

No i'm asking where they post the results of their own polls until now.

We aren't entitled to the mangaka's work. I can't read this garbage but I own multiple copies of Yoakemono, Mitsukubi Condor, other Jump series and series that the mangaka's family has probably never even heard of. This is what I'm willing to do to support the mangaka. What are you willing to do?

The groups cover is so cuute. Also fun to see them interact to each other. damn senku is bigger than Asta and Asta has the same placement as itadori. i wouldnt be suprised if in the next groups cover, itadori is gonna replace Asta.

Edit: love to see mini doll senku and kohaku in the car one of my fav duo in shonen, also always loveee to see senku's science works in the groups covers

That's some cool layout for the results...
They were going to do something similar with the new polls, but with added information that MH votes were being added.

I can confirm this in my case. I'm glad they stopped translating series from WSJ. It's so disrespectful when they have a $2/month subscription to read practically everything that's running now. Not only is it a goddamn steal, but it's an effortless way to support these people who work tirelessly in this industry that has given us so much joy. Without them, this website forum thingy wouldn't exist and we wouldn't be having all these discussions. As for series that aren't officially released weekly in English, yeah, I'm guilty of not having the patience to wait years to read them, but I do go out of my way to purchase the official volumes for those as soon as they're available!

I think you should thank the Manga Editors for having this forum thingy, specially when this site was for a time a big place for fan translations.

Of course I'm thankful for them. I'm not looking at things in black and white like Sensui. There was a time when we all needed WSJ Edited Mangas because there was no convenient way to be up-to-date with these series, but I think that time has come to pass. That being said, I think we still need Manga Editors for series that aren't released officially in English. I'm glad people here leak ToC stuff and talk about future Shonen Jump-related content. As I stated in the post you replied to though, I still read Edited Mangas, but from series I can't read officially. If my post came off as offensive, I do apologize, as the point I was trying to make is that I don't see why we can't just give a little back to these mangaka people that break their back for us. If you do read WSJ series ahead of time while supporting them officially at the same time, I get it. There's nothing wrong with that imo. I just don't like it when people do just that and don't give a little back when $2/month really isn't much. Maybe I'm in the wrong. I don't declare that I'm in the right because these are my opinions. I'm open to hearing more opinions on this matter.

Though that's only for Viz, right? Some people can only access MangaPlus, which doesn't offer that.

Or does MangaPlus have all the chapters available in countries where Viz can't be accessed? I don't know.
