Well, I can understand. Both in the obvious thing that because people like DB and DBS.. and the other side financially which is that DBS gave a huge boost for Bandai Namco, Toei, Shueisha and all involved for merchandise, games and so on, which made the numbers be much bigger than before it, so in a way it's kind of counterproductive but a movie is already announced and it's probably coming in 2021.

I mean I can only imagine even with Dai no
Daiboken being popular all around the world (except for English speaking countries... Similarly to Saint Seiya and other classics from the 80s), continuing DB Super would have been more profitable.. so what exactly is Toei waiting for? Maybe they don't want people to get tired of the franchise?

Also, hope they use the old opening and ending for Dai, they are too iconic like Butterfly for Digimon or Pegasus Fantasy for Saint Seiya... Todo does make some pretty iconic and catchy openings lol

This event's been wild. Man, why wasn't Jump Festa next week. We're gonna be going two weeks without Jump issues.

So this is why Yugi was there. Though it doesn't seem like he'll be in it.

No need to apologize, it's just that it's been like that since the original manga and anime so over 10 years. with a visual focusing more on a younger readership and audience. It's why Yugioh now is on V-Jump, for example.

That's not true. The other series all still had a certain YGO-look to it.

This one just looks like someone made a chibi version.

I'm guessing

a) they want to make bank with another movie first
b) they want the manga to get ahead a bit more so it doesn't get overtaken immediately
c) they are preparing the episodes way ahead of time so they don't run into another time management nightmare

It doesn't feel real, it just sound too good to be real, like I'm still dreaming & it doesn't help that JJK is having good staff announced and WT continuation is confirmed
this just sound less believable than last years' Festa when Jimoto ga Japan got an anime after 12 chapters

Dragon Quest Dai no Daiboken open the door for some possibilities for me like finally full anime of Video Girl Ai or I''s (which were aired as OVA's only featuring first two volumes for each manga), Ichigo 100% getting also a possible reboot, or Rokudenashi Blues or Rookies anime happening.

Or maybe a new reboot for Hoshin Engi, but this time a good reboot and not that crap we had.

Mankichi I was thinking the exact same thing! Like we recently got info on how Video girl ai was a million seller (the only romance comedy million seller for Jump, which weirdly enough I always had thought the best selling romance manga in Jump would have been Kimagire orange road) so a VGA or I"s adaptation would be sick, even just a 26 episode series would be enough, after all of we are being honest a lot of romance comedies have a lot of "filler" so the anime can cut to the important parts.

Hoshin Engi getting another reboot isn't happening, I would just be happy with a new season with the final arc animated... And maybe an ova or two for some stuff they skipped from the first half of the manga.

Dai's reboot is amazing news. I haven't seen the old anime or read the manga, only played the games but it makes me excited that maybe after it finishes it will be Beet the Vandel buster's turn to also get a reboot. Is anyone caught with the series and knows how it's doing?

Dragon Ball had Bird Studio, Berserk has Studio GAGA, for example.

isnt world trigger manga only ahead of the anime by like 50 chapters?

65 chapters actually. Far enough ahead to make a 24 episode season, especially if it is split-cour.

Rokudenashi Blues anime would be so dope. I was saying here a few weeks ago that they need to bring the Yankee genre back.

The Gintama mini-stage stream on Niconico just finished up. From the things that I managed to gleam from Twitter, in summary:
- they spent most of the stream talking about anything but Gintama
- Sorachi sent in a letter in which he basically said that nowadays he spends his time watching porn and shitting a lot
- Talked Kimetsu no Yaiba characters that Sugita (Gintoki’s voice actor) likes (in particular Shinobu), also joking that Sorachi is probably reading Kimetsu and getting more and more jealous at its success
- Mentioned there was a planned Gintama Matsuri event for next year but that has been postponed for now
- Only confirmed the movie was coming in 2021 with around a few minutes to go in the stream but other than that, no details of plot or material was announced
