The up and down rating of MHA amuses me... This season, it went: 4.5, 4.0, 4.6, 3.2, 4.1, 4.8 ,4.8, 3.7, 3.8, 4.1 and 3.3... I mean it has always been its pattern, season 3 for example would go to 4's to 2's to 3's... I expect the rating for last week to go up to the 4's again....

I think TV ratings just fluctuate regardless of what episode is airing. Last season, the highest rated episode was the recap episode, I think. I do think HeroAca’s ratings have gotten higher with each season, though.

For example, Heracles power is demonstrated by his breath annihilating the life around him, his steps creating a new ecosystem and their yearly breaths restructuring the atmosphere. It's more complex than the way modern power systems are shown off.

Yeah Shimabu would integrate Toriko's power scaling with the world building at times which was really nice. Also the foreshadowing in Toriko doesn't get enough credit, it's one of the most underappreciated aspects of the series. I guess not many people reread Toriko to catch those kinds of details.

Always found it kinda werid how it turned from wizard magic to literal Heaven vs Hell. Bastard!! is way more bizarre than Jojo is, I can tell you that.
I do think that Chainsaw Man is our current Bastard!!, both series kind of have that insane 14 year old ultimate fantasy type of feel to it. Let's just hope that the hiatus doesn't hit Fujimoto for Chainsaw.

That's true. Which reminds me that I should read Bastard someday. What makes me delay it are the hiatus..

People tune in to MHA, or Phoenix Wright or whatever else is airing on that spot, because it airs right next to Detective Conan. That's it, and that ratings don't really fluctuate from show to show says everything.

He was talking about beating OP's record, not beating it in 2020. That much is guaranteed. Even assuming the boost stopped this very day the remaining volumes for the current year make up too much of a difference.

And yeah I think current fight is a bit boring but it'll probably get more interesting soon once they start fighting back.
