The meaning of Boruto is a homage to Neji and Minato. Give kishi some credit man. lol

Right, Boruto meaning "bolt" and Neji meaning "screw". What a thoughtful homage.
I'll give credit to Kishimoto for coming up with a canon reason for that name and for making some think that was the true purpose of said name and not the marketing opportunities behind it.

Incidently, to add my two cents in, I think the argument can go either way on the Boruto situation. In the story of Naruto itself, Boruto's meant to book end the story. Everything about the character is meant to call back to how the series begun.

Still, it is pretty hard not to argue Boruto was an obvious cash grab designed to keep the Naruto brand alive. Frankly makes me kinda terrified what fate One Piece will suffer once it ends.

Actually, quick question, do you guys think it was inconsiderate of Jump to not give Naruto the cover to its final issue in Jump because they wanted to focus on "the future"? And do you think the same will happen for One Piece?

Look at it this way: The Dragon Ball manga finished a quarter century ago. In 2 days the newest Dragon Ball game comes out.

It's just not something Jump does.

Slam Dunk only had it iirc because of some kind of scheduling goof. Someone else could probably elaborate better.

Why are you trying to reach so hard with this? it's first a homage to Neji, and second, HELLO, manga it's a product, main character names or series titles being made in a way to be charismatic and sell a product it's the most basic thing in mangas, comic books and etc, you could use better examples, not something like the name of Naruto's son

Kochikame got it though. OP sorta follows Kochikame in the sense that it's been the face of the magazine for multiple decades, similar to Kochikame. So I think the chances of OP getting one is high.

If I remember correctly it means bolt as a homage to minatos name which I think means like lightning bolt or something and its written like a physical bolt which is a homage to neji being a screw and a screw and bolt are similar things. I honestly can't remember where I got that info but, I think it pretty cool still. I would like to think kishi actually tried to put symbolic thought to it but you ate smarter than me so you are probably right.

I don’t mind milking. I just wish in terms of the quality of new manga/anime series that Dragon Ball and Naruto tried harder.

Dragon Ball Movie continuations though have been between fine and great

New videos games, toys, etc. is only expected though. If old Jump properties are still making money, and there’s still a demand for new merchandise from the franchise, why stop?

Most series that come out are cancellation fodder. We get a couple successes a year if that.

Like what??? They are literally fighting the main big baddie right now and most of the important characters stories are complete or they're dead.

I don't see Kimetsu getting extended right now but I wish this boost happened a year earlier so Gotouge could've added a few more arcs. I feel like the story kinda got a little rushed over when it entered this Infinity Fortress arc
