Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

Is it even his official account? For all I know, this could be a faker. I don't follow him, so I never realized if he had one.

On another note, I'm pretty damn sure Horikoshi's totally faking his English fluency and he's the most fluent out of all the authors right now., considering some of the theories out there becoming unexpectedly true.....
No, definitely, Horikoshi's English is damn good. He's written in several instances before, like the one in the pic. And he also reads Western comics (I don't have a source for this though)

You don’t even need a source for that, just look at all the references he makes to them.

Alright then. My apologies.

Btw, by Negi, you mean the author of Quintuplets right? If that's so, the idea of Taishi and Negi conspiring sounds more likely.....
Have you seen who wins the bowl in both series? If that ain’t evidence that they planned this together, I dunno what is. XD

I guess WNL could end as earliest as volume 17, which means only maybe 2 chapters left.

I know, you're the one who mentioned it.

Spoilers aside, it's fun and wholesome to see mangakas' friendships, so you get an idea of how they could influence each other. It's even more fun to assume some are straight up conspiring on how to end their series.... :teehee

Oh yeah, I forgot about that illustration he drew a while back. He's also noted in other interviews he does take note what people are saying about his series on the internet.

Yeah, I'm convinced he knows what the fandom's reactions are. It's why he got the idea for Kurogiri, and why he's blue-balling everyone on purpose about Dabi. Considering the reach in some theories..... I just hope he knows which ones to properly use and execute.

Remember the updated topicality rules, everyone. No plot discussion of series with three or more volumes, even if it's under spoiler tags.

Awww, the new SxF chapter was so wholesome! FUTURE IS BEST!!! <3
If Yor is as strong in the sheets as she is in the streets, Loid will not survive sex, that much is clear. xDDD
Poor Handler though... no wonder, she hates war so much.
Loved when smug fakeMommy and smug fakeDaughter were walking hand in hand while fakeDaddy was this close to just collapsing due his stressful day. Bro needs a Spa day badly. ^^
I really like how this family of 4 is build up of people who all had sad/bad pasts that should or could have left them broken yet they are super lovely and loving to each other. <3

Hope this is vague enough. <.<

Been playing a lot of Blazeblue Cross Tag Battle Lately and cant stop thinking that this would have been an amazing format for a Jump game. I know people want Arc System Works for damn near every game but still.

Such simple sprite animation.
The character interactions
A fun fighting system that isn’t too complicated
The crossover between many different franchises with a sizable roster
Soundtrack includes iconic songs from every franchise.

Like, this probably would have been such a simple game to make with the same Jump properties they used in Jump Force, and would have been way less expensive and time consuming to make. All for a way better game.
And with the simple sprite animation could have led to endless and easier to make DLC.
Such a missed opportunity

Is the current Jump logo the one that lasted the longest of them all? They haven't changed it since 1998 (or late 1997 if you want to get technical).

Some of you are literally posting untagged spoilers for WNL.

Please don't do that. Thank you.

While the girl who won wasn’t one of the two I was expecting, the road to the end has been underwhelming, honestly. None of the losing girls get any real sense of closure besides some vague support in one or two chapters, so fans of them feel cheated. It doesn’t excuse the harassment or threats, obviously, far from it, but it’s likely only a very vocal minority. Constructive criticism is a thing for a reason.

And what was the other option? Stretch the entire story out just so all the girls (who have finished arcs, for reference) gets some kind of closure? Because Nisekoi tried that and no one liked it. I can get being saddened, but no ending was going to be able to satisfy everyone.

Of course, maybe it helps that this feels like the true end to a VN, and that speaks to my sensibilities.

We have essentially been getting arcs for the losing girls though. The past year has had character focused arcs with some slice of life stuff separating them which essentially covered what Nisekoi's huge final arc did aside from rejection. Most rom-coms I've read haven't had final arcs where the protagonist one by one rejects each member of the harem so I'm not sure why everyone seems to think that's missing from WNL unless Nisekoi is their only other experience. Stuff like I''s, Ichigo 100% from Jump and say even Quints all had similar ending styles to what WNL is doing.

edit: started typing that before Rain's post so I ended up repeating most of his points oops

Honestly, yeah, I find it funny how Nisekoi spent so much time with the MC rejecting all of the girls and nobody liked it, but there barely any here and nobody liked it as well. My guess is that Nisekoi spent too much time on it to the point where audiences were like “Just get on with it already!” You probably have to strike a delicate balance with this, and none of the bowl harem manga I read struck it yet.

That no romcom has "hit it" might prove a true balance doesn't exist.

Commenting again (without spoilers), a uninspired and lazy ending route for We Never Learn, Tsutsui managed to make the original "best girl" of the series winning be actually hated by most of readers, specially with the anime spoiling everything before the manga, it just make it super lazy going for the same route and to be fair at least in the anime made much more sense than in the manga, but well, another bad ending for a romcom with the other girls being thrown away in the trash can like they never matter, nothing new kkkk.

It didn't help Naoshi couldn't write actual romance even if it was to save his own life...
