Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

Commenting again (without spoilers), a uninspired and lazy ending route for We Never Learn, Tsutsui managed to make the original "best girl" of the series winning be actually hated by most of readers, specially with the anime spoiling everything before the manga, it just make it super lazy going for the same route and to be fair at least in the anime made much more sense than in the manga, but well, another bad ending for a romcom with the other girls being thrown away in the trash can like they never matter, nothing new kkkk.
I'm still puzzled as to what the hell you wanted exactly.

As a big fan of harems like Nisekoi, WNL and Quints, I think writing an ending to that type of story is really hard to do, and harder to satisfy the audience. I don't think any of these manga do a particularly bad job with this, Quints in particular had a pretty good ending imo. Obviously harassment of the author isn't ok, but a problem is these series profit off of fans' obsessions with generally one of the girls, so things getting bad is probably to be expected unfortunately. I don't think Tsutsui or anybody else writing the perfect harem ending that perfectly wraps up all of the girls' arcs would make insane fans happy, they're going to be assholes either way, a shitty end is just an excuse to lash out.

Been playing a lot of Blazeblue Cross Tag Battle Lately and cant stop thinking that this would have been an amazing format for a Jump game. I know people want Arc System Works for damn near every game but still.

Such simple sprite animation.
The character interactions
A fun fighting system that isn’t too complicated
The crossover between many different franchises with a sizable roster
Soundtrack includes iconic songs from every franchise.

Like, this probably would have been such a simple game to make with the same Jump properties they used in Jump Force, and would have been way less expensive and time consuming to make. All for a way better game.
And with the simple sprite animation could have led to endless and easier to make DLC.
Such a missed opportunity
Man, to think a post like this would finally get me to sign up and post. I just want to say...I agree with you, damn it! Whether it’s Blazblue Cross Tag Battle or Dragon Ball Fighterz style, I would love to see a Jump Versus game by ArcSys. The whole reason I even started reading various Shonen Jump manga was thanks to Jump Superstars back in the day. Unfortunately, since J-Versus and...*sigh* Jump Force, Jump crossovers have gone downhill...

Uh, anyway, guess I’ll make my introduction post here too.
I’ve been lurking for the past 2 or 3 years, but I’ve never been very good at forum posting. I’ll do my best to be an active member, but no promises.

Favourite series: Gintama
Others in no particular order: Rurouni Kenshin, Hinomaru Zumou, Medaka Box

Current series I love: Chainsawman, Act-Age

Newbies I’m rooting for: Mitama, Undead Unluck, Mashle

Looking forward to: Zipman joining the U19 club and that updated image! It’s been a while!
I guess that’s about it. Nice to meet you all.

Right, even if you write good endings, people are still going to be salty that their preferred girl lost. It’s all a matter of personal preference. That’s just how these things work.

Harem as a genre seems fundamentally flawed.

Shinuki, if you seriously think that, go read a nukige.
No one really expects WNL to end like a harem, isn't even a true harem series like Yuuna and To Love-ru (far superior series), just a typical romcom with harem bait.

The fact that you think TLR is "vastly superior" says more about you than I ever could.

Never understood why people get so damn salty over romcoms, especialy since I find them to be the comfy respite from all the shonen action. Yeah, I have preferences on who I would like to see win, but I don't get upset at all if it doesn't go well.

My friend, To Love-ru and specially To Love-ru Darkness is LEAGUES above We Never Learn.
Man of culture here. I like them all equally though.

What are you talking about about the anime? The anime skipped many scenes and chapters about her,
instead the anime only focused on Fumino, the anime treated Fumino as the main girl and the others were harmed.
The anime was not a good adaptation and a good view on the series

I'm saying that inside the context of the anime, the "chosen" girl makes more sense since she received more focus and the anime also adapted the parts where she was considered as the "best girl" for many at the time, the anime itself had a very "meh" ending.

You realize that Tsutsui clearly picked the winner based on what made sense for the story, right?

You realize that no one really read a romcom for what "makes sense for the story" right? And this argument doesn't really hold much weight, weren't you arguing about the girls not being thrown away? so why only picking her is that "makes sense for the story?", this means that all the other girls really didn't matter at all because they dont "make sense for the story", as if most of them weren't there since the first 10 chapters.

Don't really see this that much, since a different girl made much more sense until the winner was declared, based on how the chapters were going. And I say that as someone who actually likes the winning girl more.

He never seemed to fall in love with Fumino, while he was jealous and had many more romantic scenes and blushing with Uruka
