These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

Colorido's mainly done internet OVAs and films, so I'm guessing this will probably just be an OVA. Wait, is Burn The Witch actually going to be serialized? If so, then I guess I'll have to read the oneshot. I like Kubo's artstyle, so lets hope his writing skills improved or he got a competent editor or writer to help him.
Wow, if true that JJK is getting neither 18 or 19, that's fucking sad. No anime announcements, no cover for its anniversary, no cover for 100 chapters, what the fuck is going on here?
The reason is exactly because will get something animated in 3 months, announcing a animation for a new series that you don't even know if will last isn't something very smart to do even if is just a OVA, taking in count that the series is already announced with a animation implies that isn't just a regular serialization (is also some sort of Bleach spinoff)
Pretty sure Burn The Witch will be an OVA given the studio.
And my guess is that the full serialization is going to have less, or absolutely no references to Bleach.
At most, I think it’ll be a “takes place in the same universe, but they have no connection plot wise”, type situation

Unlike Samurai 8, Burn The Witch has a oneshot. It’s possible that the one shot received a good reception when it released in Jump or it has at least some popularity.
Also, we know very little about the OVA.
The same studio is doing a series of 6 minute Pokemon shorts. For all we know Burn The Witch may just be a 11 minute short

Why they would announce a 11 minute short animation 6 months before release and 3 months before the series even starts? That's a lot of hype for a short animation, they will obviously promote the series as "in the Bleach universe" and stuff, i read people arguing about SJ overpromoting Samurai 8 but what it is when a new series is announced already with a animation sticked with it? This is why i don't think this series will be a long thing.

Why not? Even if it’s only 11 minutes, it’s an 11 minute short from the creator of Bleach, and if it was high quality then it wouldn’t matter.
However, I’m not stating that i think it’ll be that long. Just saying that we don’t know what to expect, nor do we know the circumstances of the OVA.
Like I said, Burn The Witch pretty much already has a Pilot. For all we know Japanese Jump readers may have loved the One Shot, and could have been begging for a full serialization since. If that was case, getting an OVA isn’t too crazy

Well, why did they promote the hell out of Samurai 8 in the first place? The author's a big name, mainly due to the manga that they drew. Though I hope they don't over-promote this one as hard as S8 especially since Bleach hasn't sold as much as Naruto.
-Samurai 8 has concluded this Issue
-The ‘Bleach’ Thousand-Year Blood War arc will receive an anime adaption.
-"Burn the Witch" will be serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump this Summer & will receive an anime by Studio Colorido this Fall (Director: Tatsuro Kawano).

One thing I'd like to add to that is I can't personally remember over the years, when asked which veteran they wanted to return, hardly anyone saying Kishimoto. A lot of them have been clamoring for Kubo to return since the day Bleach ended.
I feel like Burn The Witch is probably going to do much better, because it was something WANTED and not just there to be ACCEPTED like Samurai 8.

Although I enjoyed Samurai 8 for what it was, Kishimoto could have benefited a lot from releasing multiple One shots and testing waters with it before jumping into a full series.

A lot of that, simply, can be pegged on the feet of Boruto. Even if Kishimoto wasn't directly involved with it, that it was set in the world he created and acted as a continuation to his work meant it never really felt like he left the house, so to speak.
