Moderator Notice:
Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

This is what i'm talking, the SJ twitter is straight up stating Kubo said is a short-series, not making a assumption, and if is wrong, why no one corrected them or they clarified the topic yet? because everybody is already taking the series as a short (which is much probably the case)
Based on following them for a while, it seems like the SJ twitter is just run by a SJ fanboy(probably multiple ppl actually) who are dedicated to getting and posting SJ news as early as possible, and seems like they likely just get translations in a similar fashion as Yonkou, and don’t actually translate things themselves. This is just an assumption though.

And we’ve had plenty of mistranslations on Jump that have gone months without the proper translation being spread. There are still ppl saying that Kishimoto only planned for Samurai 8 to be 10 volumes. Hell, ppl are still quoting Akira Toriyama mistranslations from 15 year old interviews.

Not saying that the SJ twitter isn’t correct. Just that Jovan makes a valid point

You guys realize that the people who manage that WSJ account are MH members that frequently post in this thread, right?
No, actually. I've been meaning to ask that. I was wondering if anyone here was related to the WSJ account. I had a feeling, but I wanted to be sure. Whelp, now I know. Thank you!

I thought it was common sense at this point.

It's an assumption/conclusion based on the statement that's later literally translated as Jovan said. Don't give it that much thought.

I always knew it was by users from this thread.

Should be mentioned, accounts such as that are a shining example of responsible sharing of information. The account solely exists to spread accurate information with no gossip or personal opinions.
One of those rare twitter accounts which you (or at least myself personally) wish does well.

I feel a distinction should be made. They're not from this thread, they just happen to post in this thread.

They'd primarily identify as users from the unofficial Weekly Shonen Jump discord server. Often times information will leak on there before it's ever posted in this thread.

I've noticed that as well. The Twitter account seems to be pretty popular as well, too, so hopefully more people are able to learn about the inner workings of Jump through that. Then again, the Weekly Shonen Jump brand is a popular one worldwide, considering all the big hits they've published.

SpyxFamily got 5th and Chainsaw Man got 10th
Act-Age and Chainsaw Man are successful Jump series. They're gettign anime eventually, so I feel like voting for those two was redundant. Spy x Family, though - I think an anime adaptation might be too early, but I'm honestly surprised this got 5th place. I thought it would get Top 3, at least, considering all the acclaim.

It's just a fun thing for people to throw their support behind manga they like. Basing off previous lists I don't think this list really amounts to anything

I assumed, but wasn’t 100% sure. So just stated that it’s, at the very least, a bunch of ppl like us

According to the BLEACH livestream, Murakoshi is the editor for Burn the Witch? The live-translator described him as the "guy in charge of Kubo", lol.

I hope crazy shippers don't scare Kubo away again.

Feels like, at this point, Naruto shippers have mostly calmed down (I guess since we've had Bort the whole time so the disappointed shippers have gotten used to seeing it) but Bleach's rejected shippers are still really weird about it even though their pairing didn't even make sense.
