I think this week's chapter would normally fill up volume two, but there's no way they can squeeze another volume of content out at this point so my guess is it's just gonna get a second and final volume that's larger than normal.

That would make sense. With Samurai 8 having just ended, then we could get a small 2-series serialization round that'll tide us over until the next one (maybe Guardian and a veteran series concluding?)

Chainsaw Man easily broke the record of most votes until now, it was a good week, more voters, few excluded but CSM was so voted that taking in count the rest of the ranking it gives the idea of overall few votes.

Really surprised that Yaiba didn't got more votes, the chapter was really great, Black Clover also underrated af lately.

IMPORTANT DETAIL ABOUT THE POLLS FOR #18​

For the next poll about issue #18, we will make a little test to see how things will go and the impact in the results, the first poll will come back to only 3 options of votes while the second thread will go up for 5 votes at most, you will not be obligated to rank 5 chapters if you don't want, but the number of points will increase too since it have two added choices, so now its like this:

1st = 9 points
2nd = 7 points
3rd = 5 points
4th = 3 points
5th = 1 point

It still the same thing like before if you don't want to rank 5 series and want to do 3 for example, the first will get 9, second gets 7, third gets 5 and etc, don't need to worry or think you can't vote if you don't think 5 series deserve or you don't read so much series.

Important to notice this isn't a post about asking something, it's to announce what will happen, Buranchi and i already decided, if doesn't go well we just go back to what we were doing for the issue #19, simple.

Maybe, but on what level? It's highly unlikely to hit the same highs as KnY.

Although, no one could call the level of success KnY had either, so who knows.

That anime seems too far away. We are heading to spring and still no news. At this point I can see it moving its release to 2021 due to how things are turning out.

Yeah, I hated FT but there's no denying the amount of hours and speed Mashima put into drawing manga.
I'll be surprised if there are any current gen mangaka like him.

Frankly, between Jujutsu, Chainsaw and the current direction of MHA, one can make the argument that suffering and brutality is very much the modern vogue of battle manga.

Not much difference from the 70's - 80's

Kimetsu no Yaiba's art at first while not bad did have quite a rough feel to it.

Gotouge's even talked about it before, I remember an author comment (or maybe a volume comment?) soon after the anime got announced that said something like "My art's the type that falls apart if you blow on it a little".

I never had the problem with his art, it felt unique and more iconic at the time. (It has a bit of the 70's anatomy build like saint seiya), but now with the newest color page he improved ALOT. I can understand why people didnt like it imo, nowadays good art has to be good no less,, some are an exception ofc

regarding a hypothetical comedy slice of life manga from wani:

while i am a big fan of the comedic and slice of life moments in the manga, i think they work so well because of their contrast with the darker, action packed battle arcs. they act as a much needed relief from the heavier content. especially since many of the characters are usually serious, stoic types (which makes sense considering the premise of the story), so seeing them in fun lighthearted situations make them much more likable. im not sure if a full comedy slice of life series from wani would be as enjoyable, especially since it won't have the characters from kny that we already know and love, but i wouldn't particularly mind if they went that route.

personally, i would much prefer to see wani stick around with the kny verse for a while because there's so much more that could be done with the characters. i still firmly believe the series is ending too soon. i think wani should do some miniseries or spinoff's about some of the pillars. or they could do some 4-koma stuff and maybe have that as the dedicated back of the magazine slot lol. maybe even more stuff set in the kimetsu gakuen verse. those special 4-koma wani drew a few times were pretty cute and funny.

if they went with a new series, i would really like to see a spokon, or even another battle manga like fantasy adventure. something where wani's fun character writing can really shine through.

An spin-off's would be perfect. May sound like milking but you can do alot in the universe of kny

Think the good thing about JK is that it's sales are still going up and it hasn't stagnated meaning new people are still discovering it with every volume. It can definitely reach MHA/TPN tier level of sales. I think the highest it can do is be a million seller like HQ but we will see.

Think the off-putting aspect is intentional in these covers. The darker color palettes and expression in most of them are definitely not meant to give off any other vibe.
Definitely think people like this very aspect of the covers but I guess its not for everyone.

That said, Vol 5 clearly has a very different vibe than the rest which is shown via its brighter colors and even the characters themselves.

So instead of 5 1 point tops we get 3 1 point tops and instead of 3 top ranked with 5-3-1 we get 5 top ranked with 9-7-5-3-1? Dunno how to feel about that. Doesn't that make the first poll pretty much redundant? I mean it is basically just an extra point now for your 3 top ranked chapter aka 10-8-6 instead of 9-7-5 while before the top5 votes meant it was giving 2 series points that in the higher point poll wouldn't receive any. To me it feels like you are throwing points at a problem (lol) that doesn't bother most of us: That a lot of series don't receive a lot of points compared to the top5. All this does is that we will get future CSM chapters with like 300+ points and then still have series with like 10 votes at most.
What we got right now is working pretty well so far, why change a working system?

A bit different from ours, ain't it? Like their first is our 6th but all other series we are actually close like UxU being our 3rd, their 2nd, JjK being their 3rd and our 4th and so on. What remains low in both is Zipman and GotW, Zipman is already finished and if GotW ain't picking it up any time soon it might be used as cushion for other series Jump sees higher potential in.
