Moderator Notice:
Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

I've always wanted to check out 'Gakuen Jōbōbu H.I.P.' But it only ran for three volumes in 1986 so probably won't be able to read it

Also would really like to read kimagure orange road. Sounds like a fun series
KOR is pretty fun but I feel like the middle portion is pretty pointless and meandering.

Yeah, definitely. As Koni said, sound like a romcom alright, not just in Jump but in general.
Like every romcom once it gets popular stretches itself, introduces new characters (mostly girls) that you know will never be the end game girl anyways so you don't care about them..

The one romcom that I could praise because it mostly didn't have filler was The Quintessential Quintuplets.. And that's not even Jump, but I can't think of a single Jump romcom that didn't stretch its run with "filler" in the middle of the story, I guess the closest would be Video Girl Ai, it's only 12 volumes long (It's 15 in total but IIRC 12 volumes is the main story "Ai" the last 3 volumes is an extra story.)

Sorry this almost passed me by. Jun Tomizawa holds the rights to his own series, so this is totally available in Japanese on Bookwalker, so at the least you can check a free preview. https://bookwalker.jp/de789b4824-a395-40c0-8621-ed72e7831e04/

It’s... quite a weird one. I’d be surprised if any licensor or scan group would look twice at it, but it’s neat.

By the way, question for all of you. What's the most obscure Jump series that you know of?
Mainly that but also can mean series that caught your eye/wish to read.
Seikimatsu Leader Den Takeshi!

Takeshi is a good one.

Last I heard, isn't the Edited Manga group who did the Toriko manga planning to do all of it?

It is being translated currently, with the first 35 chapters already translated (2 wide-bans out of the 13 are translated) and it's still an ongoing project for them

I think they'll do all of it but its going to take a while. I think Kewl does most of it and he's already working on Jojolion/Innocent Rogue/etc so yeah.

Hell yes. Now would be a great time to get into it as I wanted to read Mitsutoshi's first hit for while.

Random dumb question that I just had in my mind.. And to spark some talk haha (since we are not getting a Jump issue in.. what 2 more weeks?)

What's your favorite tournament narrator in all of Jump (or maybe perhaps you could include some outside Jump but also mention the ones in Jump to make this WSJ related). Maybe even if it's not like a tournament, just a narrator?

I think the OG that I think (but I'm not sure) pretty much was the originator of this cliche: The World Tournament in Dragon Ball deserves an honorable mention.

But I also really liked Juri from YYH. Like Idk haha her design is super cute.
