Damn, alrightt. Welp, wont get worse as food wars atleast.
Most series on record have experienced declines once they've peaked. This isn't something new, really. The declines are often slight and gradual.
Some usually stabilize after some decline. Naruto was mostly stable for a long time after it's peak, although one or two volumes towards the end dipped. HxH was stable for so long but it's latest volumes finally showed some decline again.

HQ declined until the sudden uptick with the recent volume (although we will need to see if this uptick was just a 1 volume thing or a new growth with the following volumes). MHA is declining as well. BC as well.
Toriko, Bleach, Soma, Beelzebub, Gintama, One Piece - Literally any series you can name has experienced declines once they've peaked.

AC, Kuroko and KNY don't show it because they all ended at their peaks. In KNY's case, we haven't seen the peak yet.

This is definitely earlier than expected. If everything goes well, Fall animes should have an okay schedule. An uneven quality in animes airing during that time might be more noticeable.

Let's just hope the Croconavirus doesn't cause a new wave to hit, with how long those lines were.

I mean, Croconavirus is definitely higher priority, it keeps spreading and its not stopping. xD

I did watch in the news that the situation in Japan is actually improving, so this actually is reassuring and yeah, seems like there won’t be anymore delays regarding anime and manga.
But anyway, so happy for Japan who are, from the looks of it, doing alright

In other news:

I posted this in the MHA subforums, but I figure I'll post it here too.

MHA sound director shows voice recording process according to physical distancing guidelines. It's unknown if it's MHA in the tweet, but it does at least confirm MHA has probably begun the recording process and things are going well so far.

My quick thoughts on the chapters

HeroAca: Even though I like this manga, the current arc just feels hollow and I'm not feeling the dread/fear/hype of the buildup. At best, it was just okay. Maybe it's just too many chars I don't care about or maybe too many things happening at once.

Chainsaw: Crazy imagery that I like to see from this manga. The Denji vs Doll fight was terrible honestly. Might be the worst of any major battles in the series thus far. The ending has me intrigued for what is to come.

Neverland: Compared to the previous chapters that led to this point, it honestly wasn't that bad. People complaining about the "price" are being impatient. We don't know what actually happened yet. If it is a BS asspull next week, then complain. I don't really like this manga much anymore, but even so this week's chap was far from the worst in this arc.

Jujutsu: Badass fight honestly. The techniques and reactions from the chars were great and live up to the hype. The ending was very interesting and although we don't get a full picture of the territory, it looks different from the initial version from earlier in the series. Has potential to become one of my top 5 fights.

Clover: Better than the last 3-5 chapters with the fodder dudes, but this part of the current arc is so damn boring. I don't even hate Clover, but I just can't be bothered to care. Maybe next week when the fight starts, it will be more interesting.

Bokuben: Boring arc overall, but had some fun/good moments here and there. Next girl should be more interesting, so let's see if Tsutsui can execute it well or if it will end up like this arc.

Mashle: Not as funny as some previous chapters, but I understand it was set up for the confrontation between 3-lines and Mash. Wonder if we'll get a threat or if Mash will just clobber him. Could see it as a problem if attempting to build conflict/tension. Part of the reason why I don't like OPM anymore.

Undead: I really appreciate how the other Union members' abilities were hinted at instead of outright told to the readers. I love when authors don't underestimate our intelligence and let us think for ourselves. The action panels were really good as well. Also, the characterization was great even with sparse dialogue.

Ghostwriter: Still a really good manga. I was scared that pre-serialization this would end up being hyped up and turn out to be trash like Witch, but so far it's proven that it has capable storytelling. Let's hope it continues. If it ultimately succeeds, I hope it's because it's actually good and not just riding off the "boost" of Kimetsu's ending.

Are these "dash" series those that are moving into new arcs?
Not necessarily. The preview pages for the next issue has a theme. The theme is based on which series gets the cover. In this case it is a theme for Neverland. Probably "dashing" towards the climax or something. The previous one had some sort of theme for Jujutsu. The other series are the ones that are getting Color Pages or bonus pages. Chainsaw for Pop poll, Act for special announcement, Bokuben for Fumino arc, and Ghost Writer gets bonus pages for 3rd chapter.

-------------------

Mashle volume coming out soon. Can't wait to see if the sales are on par or better than Undead. Hopefully it doesn't disappoint. Otherwise, people might start a "Pushle" meme. Since some volumes got moved to a later date, Jujutsu and Chainsaw might be the top sellers for the next set of volumes. For first week numbers, I'll guess 120-150k for Jujutsu and 80-100k for Chainsaw(don't have prev numbers to compare to, so I'm just making up based on what I remember or want to see). Not confident on Mashle number, but 8-10k is my guess.

True, I should've worded it better. A drastic decline is what I meant

Jujutsu will be the best seller out of the next batch, there's no other series (as far as Jump series go) that will release a volume next month that comes even close to Jujutsu's numbers. Jujutsu actually might pull 160,000-170,000+ copies first week after the anime trailer. Chainsaw Man will probably make around 85,000-90,000 and will come after Jujutsu. Honestly, I think Mashle can sell 15,000-20,000 copies first week. For a series that has performed so well at the ToC (better than Chainsaw Man did in its earlier days) and got a CP earlier than all the other newbies in the past year (except Samurai 8), selling less than that is quite underwhelming.

How much you want to bet that Mashle volume 1 cover will be a blatant parody of the cover of the first Harry Potter book.
will MASHLE be 7 volumes long then?

I kinda forgot that Yozakura, Mitama and Undead will have volume too in June, going to be a interesting month to see the future of some series, only missing Agravity Boys

Now I really wonder what edition of the cover they would parody.

You guys realise Chapter 2's CP was parodying the Japanese cover to the first book, right?
I was not aware of that, makes sense considering that CP's composition though.

Updated list of editors.

Could be learning new information or actual changes, but the differences are:

- Black Clover from Iwasaki to Fukuda (who's in charge of Yuuna as well).
- Yozakura from Katayama to someone else (possibly Iwasaki; the source is unsure about this).

How much do you guys think Mashle will sell with its first volume? It seems like it’ll do good for a newbie considering how we’ll it’s been doing in the TOC.

Maybe this is a good opportunity to make another poll on how much Mashle vol1 will sell?

I think between 20k to 30k but will probably be less since it will count just 4 days, but will be really nice if Yaiba's backlog don't ruin the moment for Mashle being in the top 50 kkkk

My guess is between 15k and 20k, probably close or just above 18k. The sales of the new series hasn't been that awesome so far so I am more cautious for Mashle's sales.
