Nice Agravity got reprints! Hopefully they don't axe it, as it seems it is still doing well for something that has been at the bottom of the TOC it's entire run with barely any promotion.

Won't even address that last comment (especially since you also suggested that he profits while his assistants "suffer").
I thought the assistants are assigned by the editors and would get shifted to other people across shuiesha?

Are you insinuating that Yuuna-san is not legendary? Because you'd be right, tbh. xD

Also:

New chapter. Hopefully Gaming Ojou-sama comes out with quick translations so I can rank the 4 Jump+ newbies with the Jump newbies and see how they all fare. This one's definitely the best by quite a bit though.
A prideful flat-chested Ojou-sama with blonde twin-tails as potential arrogant "Kaijuu Agent School rival" or secondary love rival as a probably tsundere?
Yes, please!!! <3

I... was not ready to see Agravity reprints, I had already accepted it as dead. Happy to see though.
Don't get your hopes up too much, it could still face the axe. But yeah, damn happy it got actual reprints. Maybe it some sort of constant low seller, like a couple hundred every week which accumulates over time but which we won't see in the charts unlike Mashle which sells thousands per week even now.

Another version for JJK's PV

Also been catching up to JJK (currently at chp 50), it's definitely a fun read. My only complaint is that the battle system feels rather confusing (or prob not explained well enough is a better way to phrase it). Park as the director seems fitting especially with the current fights I've been reading through in the Kyoto event arc.

I dont know if theres a place for HxH in the world anymore, each and every time it comes back people seem to be like theyll wait for the volume and also just give up on the plot knowing another hiatus is coming. No one remembers this current arc anymore beyond the one really RIGHTEOUS page spread. Sad. (also people needing to read primers/recaps of what happened since the last set of chapters each time is not a good look)

Can only feel he's doing more harm than good to such a beloved series. Very unfortunate.
I can only speak for myself, but the next issue I see Hunter x Hunter returning will be the issue I most look forward to reading because it will be the best thing in the magazine.

The Succession War is incredibly dense - borderline novelistic at times - but any patient Hunter x Hunter fan (and if you're not patient then you're going to have to learn that skill otherwise you will not be a very happy fan for long) familiar with Togashi's style and pace knows what they sign up for at this point. Sure, newer fans from the 2011 adaptation will be the most vocal in their annoyance, but that's because they don't know the half of it. Is it annoying that we might need to refresh ourselves of what happened last time? Sure, but it's the same situation (except not even as bad) as authors like GRRM or Patrick Rothfuss where loyal fans will always await their next release.

As for it's popularity, before Kimetsu no Yaiba came around I'm pretty sure Hunter x Hunter volumes (per tankobon) sold the second highest after One Piece. There's a definite group of fans who likely do wait for the volumes to appear one day on the shelves, but they're always going to buy them. In the grand scheme of things the hiatuses don't really damage its reputation at all, unless you count those just want to make memeable internet jokes. And even then those same people will still probably read the latest chapters when they come out.

Meh, I hope she's more of a rival or companion, since I'm really a lot more interested in the badass childhood friend. Tsunderes win way too fucking much and Childhood friends are far better and yet they don't win nearly enough. It's an injustice, I tell you.

Still, she looks interesting. Need the English translations for a full verdict, though.

That's what she will be most likely at the start of the series - a strong rival later becoming a trust-worthy companion as those agents seem to work in groups so she will probably join the two guys in one. And the whole tsundere theory as potential love interest doesn't mean the badass childhood friend gonna lose. But obviously since she is out in the field and he is at school with the Oujo there will be more interaction between the two of them before the childhood friend comes into the picture.
And yeah, she does look interesting.^^

some of that confusion comes from the official translation not being consistent

The optimist in me wants to see the reprints as a good thing.

But the pessimist in me already think Agravity is a flop that’s doomed to be kicked out the magazine soon.

Well, Agravity boys already has 29 chapters, it is much more than any other manga with bad sales could achieve (the same goes for Mitama).

It's still possible for Agravity Boys to avoid cancellation long enough to gather a fanbase if new stuff keeps doing worse like Yozakura seems to be doing.

Although Yozakura has always had occasional random jumps up higher in the ToC, while Agravity Boys has left the bottom 5 I think once total, when it got 6th last.

I'd put off reading Agravity Boys because I pegged it as doomed to be cancelled but I caved and read the whole thing today and it's actually quite good. Despite all odds I hope it does stick around. The magazine is full to the brim with comedies right now but while others overlap in their set-ups and gags (Moriking, Magu-chan, Me & Roboco all being about young kids with supernatural/weird mascot companions), Agravity Boys feels refreshing.

Reprints are always good news, Mitama for example never got one and still here, you also don't see the quickly cancelled flops getting one at all, at this point i can see AB surviving for at least another round after this one, specially if Jump gets more big flops between the newbies.

Please, they've been pushing mitama for quite a while, doing the same as Agravity boys would be losing money.
And it's not possible to spawn Agravity boys with Yozakura, since Yozakura sells more and sales of volumes grow, unlike Agravity where sales of the 1st and 2nd volumes are the same.

I don't think he's saying Agravity and Yozakura are in the same position, Yozakura has higher sales, better growth, and better ranks (especially as of late), what he means is that, say, next round is a two new series one, and in a few week we get the sales numbers and Ghostwriter and Bone Collection are total bombs, then editorial might say "These two are the next to get cancelled" and Agravity get's to life for a few more months.

My personal theory for the moment is that Mitama is like a line, if the manga that sells 3k copies is alive, the one who sell over 10k will be alive too, once Mitama go that things will get more complicated for series like AB

I don't see how they would be losing money. They actually pushed Mitama and it had bad sales, but they never pushed Agravity other than giving it a twitter page yet it has better sales than Mitama and usual bottom rankers. It is getting reprints which shouldn't mean it will lose money for Jump.

I thought Agravity has a contest right now?
