Since Haikyuu's ending and there'll be no more sports manga ongoing, how long does everyone think it'll be until we get a new one? And a follow-up question how long will it be until we get one that's a hit?

I'll be surprised if there's no new sports manga in the next proper batch, but it wouldn't surprise me if it took a year or two to get a new successful one. Though I expect whatever's next will get to run for a while just as long as it's not a total flop.

I've been reading Switch from Sunday and it feels like a Jump manga more than a Sunday one to me. Makes me wonder if it was one of those series pitched to WSJ at first but got rejected, especially if it's by a Furudate assistant (maybe because it's basketball so soon after Kuroko).
My guess would be half to a full year till we get a new sport series. And two years till we get a hit. We might see a sport manga batch sometime in the future with 3 new sports series trying to find success or the axe in Jump. Personally I would like to see a sci-fi racing sport series where the vehicle has three drivers for three modes, Car, Plane and Yacht, to have a mechanical triathlon with the vehicle transforming into the new vehicle it needs to be for the next part of the race. That way you got a team of which all three are equally important as the other two also need to drive plus they provide support for the current driver like checking on the engines, the vehicle KI, etc., you also got cool transformations and if you want to you can have the sci-fi go far enough for the "plane" to be able to enter space for some extra cool shots. This could not only include racing, but also corruption in sport, sabotage, or if you want to go further you could even let the vehicles have legal weapons giving the race a dangerous if not deadly note like mines on the racing track or machineguns on the vehicle or missles and lasers and shields and so on. But I don't think we gonna see such a racing series as cool as a transforming carplaneyacht with in-board intelligence sounds, I'm not sure how hyped the Japanese audience would be for such a series.

After re-reading Burn the Witch earlier I wonder if the serialisation will act as a sequel to the one-shot or start fresh. I wouldn't mind the latter if it meant getting rid of Bardo (the panty-obsessed male character). Having it just be about Noel and Ninny would make it much better but I fear he's gonna stick around as "comic relief" since he appears in the anime trailer. Honestly I hope Kubo changes it up a lot because while the action was fun the exposition and the Japan/weeb references were just excessive and unnecessary.

It's actually way more impressive that it's still ranking with Kodansha volumes, Shogakukan volumes and all of Shueisha Seinen (Young Jump, Ultra Jump) going on sale. Anyway, we will probably end up getting a 7th week given it was only out for a single day. Looking pretty good for Mash.

So Mashle 1 sold more than Undead Unluck 1 despite coming out two months later and only having 1 month worth of sales. Man, I really want to see how volume 2 will do, hoping for it to chart on Oricon so bad.
The rough estimate for sales for 1 volume of Mashle is very close to the combined sales of the 2 volumes of Undead Unluck.

The upcoming serialization picks up right after the one shot, story wise (next day or something). This was already revealed.

I like Mashle and I am glad of its positive trend. However, I hope the author manages to expand a bit the world in these chapters rather than just focussing on fights. My fear is that after the initial parody idea starts to get old, there may not be much else to support the series.
In way, that is what One Punch Man is doing. We all know what happens at the end of each arc, but they managed to create factions and locations (well, mainly the city and the associations) so that they focus on something else rather than just the parody character.
I think that is what Mashle is trying to do too, but, maybe because of the art style, the manga still feels a bit "empty" to me.

You forgot to place Hard Boiled an Dolphin at 18. What's ブンキデン again? Was it another one shot?
Also how does the performance of Hachinin stack up aginst the other one shots.

ブンキデン (Bunkiten) is one of the series Jump is running only in the digital version, there were some others a few months ago as well. It's a minisseries, iirc.

Is "DLC" jump's games new strategy, feels like all we get these days are HeroAca/OP/Shinobi Striker DLC and a mobile game here or there.

On the topic of mashle I’m personally just glad to see at least 1 success from this year along with Undead Unluck with all of these series ending.
Huh. Never expected mash's name to be romanised like that.

The official chapter has his surname as "Vandead" but the official account said it's actually "Burnedead" lol.
